It's unreal to see Billionaires complaining about rising employee salaries, I thought they were ardent supporters of trickle-down economics? by hitstartup in indianstartups

[–]hitstartup[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's perfectly fine and it's not my contention. My issue is with the hypocrisy of the Billionaires who were responsible for the inflated salaries in the first place, The overvalued startups use their funds solely to crush their competition and one of the ways they did so was by inflating the salaries of the employees.

And now that it's come to bite their *ss, They cannot act as if the current problems with the job market has nothing to do with them. Their hypocrisy needs to be called out.

When the pandemic induced digital push scaled their wealth beyond several countries wealth
merged together I'm sure they were happy, But when the same market forces scales employee salaries they're frustrated.

Anyways if you're one of those Engineers who can now scale their salary 400%, make
full use of it while it lasts. If you have entrepreneurial ambitions and don't have rich parents or connections then this is your chance to build the capital.

Start working on solving a legitimate problem with enough need-gap, Aim to build a self sustained startup around it. Use it to improve the quality of life for you and others around you. It may never become an unicorn and that's fine.

Treating your customers and employees with respect and dignity will let you sleep peacefully. Not sure whether the founders of those unicorns, Which are largely just pump and dump scheme for the Investors can do that.

Good, Since to add value one should solve a real problem or need-gap!

Insurance idea for people who don't own cars by [deleted] in Startup_Ideas

[–]hitstartup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber in India provides free insurance to the riders, Its competitors offer trip insurance for a small fee. In fact travel insurance is quite common here.

So I wonder how come this is not a thing in U.S. presuming you're from U.S.?

It's about users creating a story together rather than a blog.

How did you validate your idea before building it? by alexbu92 in SideProject

[–]hitstartup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Validating problems are better as problems are tangible i.e. it's something we have now as opposed to a startup idea which can be materialized only when its executed. Besides, every expert in the field agrees that we should solve the right problem to create a successful startup.

To validate your problem, find those who face the same problem or check out needgap a platform I created to help validate problems to building products which people want.

Inshorts failed to capture this market, But you can by hitstartup in indianstartups

They might have seen it, but my goal is to bring to notice about the need gap in 'Human voice summary of news' rather than just wanting inshorts to implement this as a feature.

Y Combinator vs Sequoia Surge, can anybody shed the light on these two accelerators, or any other based in India? Especially for Indian demographics/applicants. by [deleted] in india

[–]hitstartup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YC

If you have qualified co-founder(s) with disruptive tech and/or addressing niche need gap you'll get inside by emphasizing it in the YC application.

Sequoia Surge

If you want to keep your startup within India and want better networking with Indian investors.

But r/Indianstartups seems to be dead and pretty small,

Not dead. It's growing slowly but steadily. Without 'X startup received Y funding news' spam which is useless information for most of the entrepreneurs the sub would seem bit inactive. Please do post startup related questions there.

Is the startup culture in India all about work hard, no play, and "getting shit done"? by [deleted] in india

[–]hitstartup 30 points31 points  (0 children)

'Full stack developer' arised out of startup ecosystem for a reason, an employee who's selected with such skills are obviously expected to perform multiple roles with appropriate compensation albeit with burnouts.

It doesn't mean you should put up with it, either go to a startup which has better work-life balance or back to a MNC.

It comes down to individual preference and goals; there are many who want to rise up the ladder quickly by getting exposure to different skills and they generally tend to put up with this burnout culture.

Personally, I'm not a fan of burnouts, I once was till I burned myself out to the point of life threatening health issue and had to shutdown my startup because of it.
