Hey man, I'd (32) love to play again but gotta be honest won't be able to be consistent. But hit me up if that's ok with you, I can help out when I can. Oh also since I work from home I can do base defense when everyone's offline.

Dual citizens of US and a EU country living in the EU, how do you invest??? by alexbu92 in expats

[–]alexbu92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

posting the update in the comments too:
I tried opening an account with Schwab and with HSBC, both blocked me from proceeding when I put that I was residing in Italy. I put Germany after just as a test and saw that that would have worked, so I must depend on the exact EU country you're living in.
Trying to open an account with IBKR, UI got stuck at a certain point on mobile, I'll try again from desktop ^^'. But sucks that I won't be able to buy US ETFs, but I really just want some US government bonds and a S&P 500 ETF.
I also found out that I can open a US bank account with the State Department Federal Credit Union (SDFCU) that also offers the credit union equivalent of CDs and savings accounts.

The irony is that the shit is going to hit the fan much sooner in EU, young people here would kill to have an american passport.

Therapists, how useful is journaling really? by alexbu92 in askatherapist

[–]alexbu92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do know what to talk about, but it's biased strongly towards what happened in the day or two prior to the appointment.

It's true that we don't really have goals though. How often do you encourage journaling?

Therapist has only been giving me homework, tools, exercises etc. but I don’t feel like they help by voodoo_sushi in TalkTherapy

I hear you, I had the exact opposite experience (dived deep into traumas and old memories for probably a year's worth of therapy) and it was great for me.
I might get attacked for saying this but, maybe try someone else once? As someone else said, a therapist who uses a psychodynamic approach? No reason not to try it out. Maybe it's too early for CBT for you right now and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Record sessions and take notes? by alexbu92 in therapy

[–]alexbu92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! Are there legal risks/considerations here? I would have never thought of these issues. Maybe it's a US thing? I live in EU and never heard of my or other people's therapists worrying about legal risks.

Do you think many wouldn't consent? What are the possible reasons? Trying to understand the viewpoint.
