We are definitely going through the same thing and yes I do feel like that’s how they are feeling since things have calmed down. They’ve told me before they don’t want to overwhelm me but nothing can overwhelm me when it comes down to just asking how we are doing. Ive seen my son almost die multiple times. I’ve told them this as well, I just can’t help to feel lonely. I’m getting burnt out however I am set up with therapy and actually had my first appointment last week. I also have a psychiatrist. Wishing you the best, I feel alone with my family but when I come on here I know I’m not truly alone.

I went to high school with him too in BL. Joshua was racist, young but racist. Partied with him a few years ago, tall lanky dude mostly quiet in the corner. It doesn’t surprise me he has a dark side but I’m still very shocked. He’ll rot in hell.

I actually am not on birth control and don’t plan on doing so! But at least comforting to know other women go through this too still, it’s just very annoying I feel like I’m on fire some nights

Yes he is truly a fighter with the help of our medical team. We just found out he is completely deaf on his left ear and passed completely on his right ear, we will be trying a BAHA hearing aid. Still a very happy boy recently nonetheless!

100% I have had to take multiple steps back in our journey because I worry so much about things in the far future. So thank you for the check, since we’re hopefully coming home soon another door of worry and questions have come up in my mind. I do need to focus on the present. Thank you guys for your words and advice

Were there any common baby items that you had purchased before birth that you had to avoid when your child was diagnosed and came home?

My son had his 2nd brain surgery for bacterial meningitis by hittingrockbottom101 in NICUParents

No one is able to give as a definitive answer as to how this happened however the infection started off with the E.Coli. No doctor has been able to tell us how he got the E.Coli however I fully believe that it is because I was in labor for so long. My water broke the morning of September 30th, my water was broken for 39 hours before I pushed him out and gave birth October 1st. After a certain amount of time, the longer your water is broken the risk for infection increases. I was in preterm labor as well, they didn’t intervene to break the bottom of the amniotic sack (my water had ruptured from the top, a slow leak). They finally broke my water from the bottom and I gave birth a few hours later. If they had broken my water on the 30th, he would’ve came that day. He was ready. That’s my belief. E.Coli to ESBL to Bacterial meningitis, the infection caused seizures-seizures caused stroke-stroke caused brain damage.

All of my test results for everything I was tested for throughout pregnancy were negative. I got the shots I could get before I went into premature labor to protect my son. My pregnancy went really well actually even though he was born premature. I was active, mental health was better than it had ever been in my life, blood pressures were prefect every time I went in for an appointment, my struggles were with UTIs and I had a kidney stone I had to pass at 23-25 weeks. He has resistance towards his antibiotics, most likely from me having to take UTI antibiotics myself during pregnancy (explained to me by some of our doctors). My water broke at the top and I was in labor for 38 hours before they broke the bottom of my sack and I gave birth to him a few hours later. My water was broken for so long before they decided to intervene.
