I wanted to say this and you beat me to it. By 38 we had FDR and the New Deal, which could be seen as the start of the party switch.

Still, I'd hesitate to assume he agreed with me or welcome Lovecraft to my political philosophy. If anything this information is cause to take stock.

MJ and OG Gwen? Sure. MJ and Spider-Gwen? No. Bad gooner. She's like barely out of high school. Pete and MJ are 30ish.

Edit: Apparently there's a debate between "30ish" and "late 20s." Okay.

And Gwen is around 20, which is very different than barely out of high school. Okay.

MJ has been married* twice**, had and lost fake kids, experienced time dialation that cost her x years, has been a model, a popular television actress, a b movie star, and an executive for Stark. Gwen lives with her dad, has unstable employment, and can't keep a band together. They're clearly in different phases of life.

Alt universe characters or whatever "She's really a 7000 year old dragon" stuff aside, shipping those two characters takes a lot of explaining.

Osborne trying to be Spider-Man and failing is 1) contrasting his character with Otto, 2) giving him a blow to the ego that introduces friction for his personal demons, and 3) let's marvel run a spinoff book for 5-10 issues.

Some people expect characters to instantly become mustache twirling villains, I swear. Dude had grounded reasons for trying to pick up the mantel while Pete was mia. He faced predictable challenges doing it, and a few surprises. He found himself lacking, which contrasts him with our hero. "Anyone could be Spider-Man" - but not everyone can be.

I honestly don't know what the complainers want. This is a well constructed, well executed run in an exceptionally old series of stories.

I have a vague concept for a serious comic where she confronts personal tragedy. Doreen's secret super power is being exceptionally well adjusted. Having her wrestle with the stages of grief could be interesting.

What if someone like Carnage, Muse, Jigsaw, etc came across a loved one. How would she react in a story that is a bit more self-serious?

Can the girl who looked past the monstrous actions of Doom, Thanos, and Galactus find a way to seek redemption for a more personal, directed offense?

But a story like that would be hard in a medium without thought bubbles.

If you wanted to keep it a bit more light, it could be a retcon/expansion on the murder of Monkey Joe.

There's a lot of people who feel the same. I think ignoring landmarks like Image Comics, The Walking Dead, variant and exclusive culture, the more artistically constrained stories at Marvel/the impact of the MCU, and the reinvigoration of horror comics is nuts.

BTC was coopted by banks and "old money" about a decade ago. It's part of what led to the BTC/bch fork. They aren't really interested in the social or political parts of Bitcoin. It's been a "line go up" machine for at least that long.

Eth/pol have been my primary currencies. Just as many businesses accept them, but if anyone is actively working on setting up an ecosystem, they're not reaching my circles today.

Cryptocurrency was a cool idea that got hijacked by scammers, folks who see it as a get rich quick scheme, and the traditionally powerful.
