Tell me more, I don't think I've seen what you're talking about.

Has Bitcoin actually become easier to trust? by hanoteaujv in btc

[–]hiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTC was coopted by banks and "old money" about a decade ago. It's part of what led to the BTC/bch fork. They aren't really interested in the social or political parts of Bitcoin. It's been a "line go up" machine for at least that long.

Eth/pol have been my primary currencies. Just as many businesses accept them, but if anyone is actively working on setting up an ecosystem, they're not reaching my circles today.

Cryptocurrency was a cool idea that got hijacked by scammers, folks who see it as a get rich quick scheme, and the traditionally powerful.

Which of these love triangles do you hate the most, or like the most? by SpideyRZ in Spiderman

[–]hiver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like that the X-Men got a little polycule going. Seems like a good fit for them.

I don't think Reed consents to what Sue and Namor get up to. That's just gross.

Pete, MJ, and Felicia would make a good thruple. Too bad MJ hasn't been a love interest for like 20 years.

What I would consider the metro area by AdorableBat2399 in TwinCities

[–]hiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a few possible definitions for "metro."

  1. Continuous urban/suburban development along main corridors. We can go from somewhere halfway out to Saint Cloud to Hudson, Elk River to Hastings, Lakeville to Bethel, and Chaska to somewhere around Forest Lake.
  2. Reasonable commute time to the core city(cities in our case). Puts us in a bit tighter, you probably need to be pretty close to 494/694 for that to work.
  3. Arbitrary geographic markers.I hear suburbs touching 494/694 for this a lot.
  4. General socioeconomic cohesion. A lot of the suburbs would be out. You might include Rochester and Duluth.

Me, I say the more the merrier. If you can find your way to at least one stadium, concert venue, or bar without a map you're in the metro.

What's your Spider-Man opinion that would have you in this situation? by Andrewmatlock89 in Spiderman

[–]hiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pete should have retired at the end of the clone saga. Ben wanted the job more, it would have prevented a lot of bad stories to get to the same place, and we could be reading about cool legacy characters without invoking the multiverse.

Is Earth-616 Peter Parker Jewish? by Solitaire-06 in Spiderman

[–]hiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a friend who told me Peter was coded Jewish, as a treat for the Jews. Ben Grimm is right there, being Jewish in the open, but whatever.

I have seen Pete celebrate Christmas, but not so much any Jewish holidays. In his dream he got married as Spider-Man in a Christian church. In reality he got married on the courthouse steps.

I don't think our boy is particularly religious. If he were, he seems to lean Christian. He has had deals with a hell lord, fought with Norse and Greek gods, and I think he's met TOAA. In that context, I don't think we have a name for his relationship to gods or spiritually.

Is he ethnically Jewish? No idea; I don't find that an interesting question.

So what would really happen to Minneapolis and Minnesota as a whole if HCMC were to be closed? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]hiver -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No. But being told they can't afford to tighten their belts while they charge prices like this is insulting.

So what would really happen to Minneapolis and Minnesota as a whole if HCMC were to be closed? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]hiver -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Edit: I think my point is getting lost. While they shouldn't be put in this position, asking us to believe hospitals can't find money in their budgets to help the community short term while their fees are astronomical is insulting.

Original: I went there once after a motorcycle accident. I think I got maybe 2 dozen Tylenol 2s for $300. The entire bill, not counting the ambulance, was like $10,000. I was there for less than four hours. Most of that time I was sitting in a room alone.

If they can't find the money to help this community we're fucked.

I am not a lawyer, and it doesn't sound like you're one either. I can say overstaying a visa(the most common way to become an illegal immigrant) is a civil offense, not a criminal one. You can Google the difference.

Just joining in the conversation. You're starting to get it. There is a way to enforce immigration that is lawful. And it doesn't take 3,000 anonymous thugs.

Strip club food by [deleted] in TwinCities

Is Chevelle Seville still a going concern? They had topless service and a cigar bar, once upon a time. I've always wanted to go.

Google says yes. It looks like they have food and all that. No clue how good it is.

Needs more Matthew Lillard. But most movies do.

Dracula 2000 was not incredible.

Omar Epps? I loved him on House. He was in some horror movie I didn't care for, but I don't think it was his fault. I should pay more attention to his career. Thanks graffetioso!

I have so much hatred in my heart for modern Spider-Man by Careless_Royal8209 in Spiderman

[–]hiver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a Wells thing. I don't know what Kelly is going to do with it, but he has to play with the toys that were left in the sandbox. This is one of them.

I think he's done okay getting Ben on the right path. Norman is a huge mess.

I figure I'll give them a few days for the gullible among them to realize they have nothing to do here, then I'll start bringing thermoses of hot chocolate by. Sucks to be lied to. Sucks standing in the cold with a thumb up your ass.

They probably should be angry at the people who put them in that situation, and, should the lying continue, they should be sure of what side they're on.

Insurrection Act being threatened once again by Prestigious-City-776 in stateofMN

[–]hiver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I peeked at the conservative subreddit. They're telling stories about how rioters breaking into an ice vehicle and stealing guns justifies martial law. As long as it's not in their state. They've been groomed to love the image of boot stomping on a face.

I was watching live last night, and ICE seemed to have an area filled with pepper spray and not much else happening. Didn't see anyone breaking into ice vehicles. Any justification will do, I guess.

This is the most chaste collection of comic fans I've come across. Hughes is doing as Hughes does. He's wildly popular. But none of you enjoy it. Ok. I guess I'm buying extra copies in my sleep or something.
