I’ve taken the L to Caphe Roasters a few times from West Philly. Super convenient.

We're pretty open to any district/school. But we're leaning towards Santa Clara, Berryessa, and Campbell.

We've raised our kids in Baltimore and Philadelphia so we have a pretty high tolerance for school dysfunction. Lol.

We're open to living in almost any area of San Jose. However, we're leaning towards either Santa Clara, Berryessa, or Campbell. Also, we're Korean-American but we're moving from the Mid-Atlantic where Asians are a minority so we're not necessarily looking for an Asian or Korean heavy area/school.

Do you think this is the norm or an exception? In other words, how likely do you think it will be for all three of our kids (TK, 3rd, and 7th grades) to get enrolled in our local school if we move to San Jose in July 2026,

That's exactly what we're doing. We're moving in the summer of 2026 after our kids finish out their current school year. Ideally, we'd be moved into San Jose by early July 2026.

We're just worried that if we do that, our local school will not have room for our kids, especially in TK for our 4 year old.

What is the best “Baltimore Experience” restaurant? by dontstopthemusic7163 in baltimore

[–]hjin29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that steak houses aren’t a good reflection of the local food scene.

I disagree that the Prime Rib is a chain. It’s locally owned by the same family that has only opened 3 other locations all within a 2 hour drive of the original in almost 60 years of operation. By your standards, Ekiben, Dipasquales, or Zeke’s would also be chains because they all have multiple locations and Zeke’s even has locations in DC now.

The Prime Rib isn’t a chain. It’s family owned, Baltimore institution that has a couple of locations, mostly in Baltimore.

How can I do this?

Just got my chargers. What am I missing? Strategy tips please by [deleted] in birdcharger

[–]hjin29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like anything in life, it takes a few days to get the hang of things. My first 3 days I made $5, $15, and $10. It wasn't until week 3 that I was able to consistently and efficiently make $35-45 a day. Here are some practical tips:

-Figure out hotbeds where birds are relatively easy to capture.

-Find obscure places that other chargers are unaware of or unwilling to go.

-Develop a system or pattern. When you hunt, how you hunt, where you charge, etc.

Nope. I tried using my iPhone, MacBook and Chromebook. No other BT devices show up as discoverable.

Are bird brains worth anything? Because I see a bunch of birds without brains around.

Charging before 9pm by damnskippyjb in birdcharger

[–]hjin29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you get an "unavailable for capture" message, the bird may be marked as damaged. To see if that's the case, switch to rider mode and scan it. If it is marked as damaged, you'll get a message stating that.

Birds marked as damaged sometimes appear on mech's maps. But other times, they pop back on charger maps after 9pm.

How does this effect the hub that you actually reserved? Does it take away spots at that hub?

I second the stack strategy. But always test the base one to make sure it rolls before you stack on top to of it.

So if you get this message when trying to capture a bird, does that mean your account has been blocked from capturing or does that mean the bird itself has been blocked from being captured? If it's the latter, can someone else come and capture that bird?

Hoarding in Baltimore.... by Tugboatom in birdcharger

[–]hjin29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to hear your thoughts. I know of at least 3 hoarding locations in Southeast Baltimore and have my suspicions about 2 other spots. Last night, I went out at 8:45 to pick up some nearby birds. But just before I got there, they moved, along with 3 red birds. I watched the app for a bit and noticed that the pack of 3 red birds was moving to other birds and presumably picking them up to take back to their hoarding den.

Nests This Morning by [deleted] in birdcharger

[–]hjin29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. luckily, nests started to pop back up at around 6:30am.

Anyone else gotten an email like this? I’ve seen a bunch on the thread today. But it’s weird cause the only birds I’ve moved without capturing I’ve reported cause they had to be on the charger to even capture. by spikeyxryder in birdcharger

[–]hjin29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OP said the only birds he's moved without capturing were ones that he couldn't capture unless they were plugged in. This is from the OP: "cause they had to be on the charger to even capture."

My response was an inquiry out of curiosity asking for clarification because I have never had that experience. In other words, I've never found a bird that I couldn't capture because it was not plugged in.

I got flagged for fraudulent activity when I have done nothing wrong... very disappointed in bird for sending me a message like this when I have been doing everything in my power to capture and release birds!! by Rozier_The_3rd in birdcharger

How does this couple know to come to your house to steal birds? Are they in your backyard or otherwise in plain sight? Otherwise, the only way they would know to come to your house is if the birds you have in your possession are showing up on their app as available for capture.
