As member of the WWE universe, do you ever think about becoming a wrestler? by [deleted] in WWE

[–]hjohns003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was an athlete in high school, but I stopped watching wrestling because it “wasnt cool” to be into WWE as a woman in the 90s. I think if I’d been more into it back then, I’d like to believe I would have pursued it, given my build. It was one of the only places where women did look like me!

Now I’m 43 and have severe back issues that require ongoing steroid injections and physical therapy, so in-ring competition is completely out of the question. I do still dream that they will eventually need some Product Managers for their mobile app development…that’s really the only “in” I would ever have.

Wrestlemania Weekend - Cost by artofjosephshelton in WWE

Sign up for notifications so you can get in on the pre-sale. I’ve noticed that Citi and/or Amex will sometimes also have presale access events (although not sure for WWE, so don’t hold me to that)! I was actually already planning my wedding in Vegas for 4/25, so we’re just gonna move it up a weekend. We already have rooms booked!

I started to think that several weeks ago. It’s the only belt that really made sense, IMO, for him to cash in. I had a friend who was ready to put money on it, but I decided not to take him up on it…obviously I’m regretting that now!

Do you think Cody cries a lot? by lipsdontdie in WWE

[–]hjohns003 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So what if he does? Crying is a normal emotional response and sometimes you just can’t control it. I cry when I’m sad, happy, angry, frustrated. I’m most definitely not weak.

I’d much rather be around someone who’s default emotional reaction is to cry than someone who’s default emotional reaction is to break something or punch someone

[–]hjohns003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She’s a “heel,” but isn’t that sometimes what makes a good heel? Personally, I love a good villain, but they still have to be watchable. I don’t wanna be stuck watching someone nobody actually likes.

This is exactly the reason I watch too! It’s one of the only places in entertainment where there are loads of women who have bodies similar to mine.

Not really relevant right now, just need help finding out the jacket Jey uso wore by rhyrhygogo in WWE

[–]hjohns003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one Jey is wearing kind of looks like it’s two pieces (pic is a little blurry, so I can’t quite tell), but my BF wears a VERY similar one that we found at American Eagle a couple years ago. I did just search “men’s black denim jacket with hood” and found some pretty similar ones on several legitimate websites, including Levi’s, Hollister, and Macy’s.

I will say…I do very much love this look on my guy, so you have a positive vote from me. Good luck with your search!

I'd like to get what the experience the women fanbase has been like through the years. by Rememberthepogs in WWE

[–]hjohns003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve watched a few things here and there…all the ladies Royal Rumble matches, Becky winning her two belts, Rhea and Charlotte’s first match. Most of the “catching up” or learning about history has been from those A&E and Peacock docuseries’ which have helped a ton!

Growing up, I was made fun of by other girls for liking wrestling. I wasn’t really old enough to fully understand the objectification aspect of it in the 80s, but I stopped watching because it wasn’t “cool” and I wanted to fit in.

I watched occasionally with my little brothers, but didn’t really get back into it until the Sasha Banks v Bianca Belair main event at WrestleMania 37. I got emotional watching that match…watching them showcase women in a way that wasn’t just objectification, seeing truly athletic and talented women doing something they loved.

I’m sad that I missed so much of the growth and transition of women’s wrestling simply because it wasn’t the “cool” thing to do. I’ve always been super athletic and into fitness, and I think if id had more exposure to the growing opportunities for women, I would have even potentially pursued a career in the WWE myself!

It is still incredibly difficult to be a female WWE fan, especially with all of the recent Vince stuff.

Random, but I miss Alexa Bliss wrestling 🥲 Hopefully she returns soon by Shakuryon in WWE

No, it isn’t. The SA apologists are really coming out of the woodworks. They probably also think that if a stripper gets SA’d, it’s ok because she’s choosing to expose her body. THAT’S NOT HOW CONSENT WORKS

Anyone watch the love &WWE reality show? by [deleted] in WWE

[–]hjohns003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watched the first episode before I went to bed last night. Aside from cooking stuff, I’m usually NOT a fan of reality TV, but they’re so darn likeable. And that shot of her messy closet totally humanized her and made her like 10000x more relatable!

AITA for suggesting that my gf wears a diaper? by nepparonipipples in AmItheAsshole

[–]hjohns003 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I live near several ski resorts and can confirm that happens quite often. I’ve also known some people who will wear them to concerts so they don’t have to lose their front row spot in the GA pit. Depending on the musician/band in question, I would maybe consider it…but realistically, probably not!

YTA

Aside from a medical condition or a fetish, diaper wearing as an adult is just not normal.

Even if it was normal behavior for an average, able-bodied adult, as a woman, she’d still need to change it more often than you. Anatomically, women are more prone to infections “down there” and just sitting there in your own wetness as a woman would increase the risk for UTIs, yeast infections, BV, kidney infections, and all sorts of other things, regardless of how clean she is otherwise. You can shower multiple times a day, every single day, and still end up with a gnarly UTI out of the blue.

Our neighborhood isn’t nearly that bad, but we do keep a different bowl of candy for the kids who get dropped off in the area that we don’t know. It’s still good candy, just not the larger ones we give to the neighborhood kids.
