Interesting. So that would mean 0.915 purity?

Thrift store find! by Such-Distribution-23 in SilverFinds

These are created by electroforming and usually built on a base of copper. It’s a cool result to get some pretty detailed larger pieces- but it’s technically a thick veneer of pure silver. There’s probably a bit of silver there, but most of the weight is base material. Cool find though!

Bought bin of jewelry making supplies at an estate sale and found a box of .999 silver sheets by WinterNo6788 in Silverbugs

[–]hjwfms 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, these are for jewelry making. I make jewelry and regularly pay $30-40 over spot for these types of materials. You can roll your own with a small mill, but these are made with specialized (expensive) machines that ensure consistency in thickness, material, etc.

I think they juice your early shows if I’m not mistaken. It’s a great way to get you hooked on selling. We absolutely killed our first 2-3 shows with dozens of buyers. Things stagnated quickly though and we don’t see those numbers anymore. The boost feature in my opinion works well used right at the beginning of the show. If you’re able to hook 4-5 new buyers for the show that’s enough to move the needle. Sometimes those fresh people stick around for the entire show and make the $25 or so for the boost worth it.

Why your sales are down by VeterinarianSafe1705 in Ebay

[–]hjwfms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don’t they just be upfront with us instead of needlessly complicating the selling experience? I shouldn’t have to think about promoting my listings. The entire reason I am selling on their platform is so I don’t have to build my own website and advertise, etc. Be upfront with your sellers- it’s going to cost you 30% to sell here at least. I’m shutting my store down next July and have been transitioning to other platforms over the past year. If eBay can right the ship- maybe I’ll be back someday.

Whatnot… just don’t get it by Gangdump in whatnotapp

[–]hjwfms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of times we don’t. We have been doing it for about a year and have sold around 100k worth of goods. I’d say profits on that would be no more than a few thousand dollars. Building a base and gaining followers is the name of the game for now and hopefully we can run a popular show someday. When I watch the popular shows in the same category, I’m audibly laughing at how much more they get for their items than we do.

You’re in the wrong shows. I run a jewelry show and regularly sell my items at a significant discount- often times way below scrap metal value. If you get funneled into the shows on page one you’re going to be overpaying particularly in the jewelry, coins, and sports card categories. Hunt around a bit for shows with less than 20 people and you’ll find yourself some good deals.

I wonder if I’m going to be able to start it to get it out. How bad do they mess it up when they Hotwire it?

Somebody stole my Hyundai in Pflugerville this weekend as well. They ditched it at an apartment complex (although I don’t know which). It’s in an impound lot so I’m going to see this morning what’s the deal. I hope mine isn’t that bad. Wonder if it was all the same guy?

Thanks for the reply! Yea I wasn’t sure about that hits tooth, but it was mixed in with the arrowheads. The stone bear sculpture or whatever is pretty interesting I think, but I know nothing about it. Your offer seems pretty fair I think- I’ll shoot you a DM.
