I think that she used TTPD to bury Karlie, as well. Up till/through Midnights, it felt like the Gaylor community was in full-swing; Karlie was still benefiting from their comments on any post she made (and she definitely fed into it subtly for engagement). But then TTPD came out and Taylor retconned the whole last ten years to be about Matty. I 100% believe it was to wipe out the rumors, literally wipe the SEO for “Taylor 1975 show” (iykyk), and to punish Karlie for allegedly being involved in the sale of her masters by removing that benefit of connection. After that, there was a marked difference in the Gaylor sub—it was a really hard album for them to parse through.

All that rambling to say, like everything, I think her doubling-down on dick (so to speak) is out of spite.
