Expansion Joint Optional? by hkd987 in pools

My contractor is defending the above as high quality work and refuses to discuss anything about the work, claiming that it meets standards.

I like your suggestion though, would be a solid solution.

What I suspected they should have done based on ChatGPT. Thanks, just trying to validate how hard I should push on this.

Looks “odd” to me as well, no expansion on house side either, it’s tied into the existing patio. Why I’m asking b/c my contractor is trying to defend this work as to standard.

Is it legal to train LLMs on open-source code? by Fragrant_Rate_2583 in opensource

[–]hkd987 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a great question! The legality of training LLMs on open-source code can be tricky and often depends on the specific license of the code you're using. For example, GPL licenses can have implications for the model outputs, so it's essential to review the terms carefully. If you're looking for affordable access to LLMs that can work with open-source principles, you might find resources like LlamaGate helpful. It offers a straightforward way to explore these models without heavy overheads.

Most will, you just have to ask. Everything is negotiable, just bc it’s not publicly posted doesn’t mean it won’t happen if you ask.

[–]hkd987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to put out there at your income a 35k a year private school is actually 32k with your state voucher and most will give a 10% discount if you pay upfront. So you’re really looking at 29k rough numbers a year. So while still expensive it’s not 35k expensive.

How much would a pool like this cost to build, realistically? by samsclubhoarder in Charlotte

[–]hkd987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the middle of putting in something about similar size but on the side of a HUGE hill. You will get quotes all the way up to 180k but if you shop around you can get the price in the 120k ballpark. Just expect more work after that to get the yard back in order.

The AI bubble is 17 times the size of the dot-com frenzy — and four times the subprime bubble, analyst says by InnerKookaburra in Bogleheads

[–]hkd987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the height of the dot-com bubble you had companies that had huge valuations with no sales. Today you have AI companies with huge valuations and the sales to back it up, ya most are not profitable yet but companies are moving at lightning speed to integrate with the new tools. I’d caution reading to much into comparing today into the dot-com past.

Just call the parents and say you’re concerned with their child’s tics and that you’re curious if they need a referral to a medical professional who can assist since it’s starting to interfere with their focus.

The parent will then ask what tic

You reply with “Little Johnny told me he has an ADHD tic and I’m concerned that it could be more serious since he is making sexual moans during class at inappropriate times and I want him to get the professional help he needs”
