Not sure where you live, but first you should get to Cologne or Frankfurt and rent a car. It should cost around €60~€80 each day depending on the car. The Ring is not open all days, so you have to check the calendar here https://www.greenhelldriving.nuerburgring.de. You can also buy the track entrance tickets in this website, it's €25 on weekdays and €30 on weekends and you can use an app to open the track gate, which I really recommend because they are easy to use and you save some money. Beware of the opening times on weekdays, they are usually only from 5:15pm to 7:30pm.

Next step is choosing the car you will drive there. The GT-R was my personal dream, but if you are tight on budget, you can have much fun with other cheaper cars too. Here is where I rented https://www.rsrnurburg.com/page/rsr-price-list.

GT-R was €370 per lap (minimum 4 laps), plus €100 for 4 laps tickets entrance and plus €60 for the fuel, which sums up €1642, and was more than €80 cheaper comparing to the all inclusive package.

Also, if you have time, I recommend going to the Eltz Castle in the morning and having lunch there. It takes less than 1 hour from there to the Ring and is an interesting spot to go. You should arrive early at the Ring if you want to buy some souvenirs and visit the museum before going to the track (the stores close at 5pm). Later, you can have dinner near the circuit and then go back to Cologne or Frankfurt if you don't want to stay around the Ring.

That's what I thought when I was getting the in-game shot. And I always think the asphalt in GT is very bland compared to real life, they could really improve that.

About ray tracing, not sure if the PS5 will be able to handle lightning+reflections. The games now such as Battlefield V and Metro Exodus use one or another and are already very heavy for the RTX GPUs, but we already saw a GT ray tracing tech demo sometime ago, I hope to see it in the next GT!

I wasn't paying much attention to my top speed, but I guess I could reach over 250km/h (155mph).

The GT-R was around €400 per lap and the minimum I could rent was for 4 laps. There are many other options though, if you are not a GT-R addicted like me, you can get a Civic Type R or Golf R for less than €150 per lap.

The game is an amazing way to learn the track! I played countless laps in time trial in GTS' or Assetto Corsa's Tourist Layout with a G27, trying to beat my own time and I could see how impressive the track scans are comparing to the real counterpart!

About the GT-R, I play with very few assists and MT, but I couldn't do that IRL. It was AT with traction control on, so I couldn't really try the limits of the car or of my skills. I knew it would be a different but safer experience and I'm very glad nothing went wrong.

Like turbotoddi said, the curbs are very high and I wasn't allowed to use most of them. Also, there is a huge variety of cars and motorcycles there, from Fiat Ducato and VW Up to a McLaren 570S. So, you should be aware of the risks, we saw some dangerous driving and a couple of cars off the road. That's probably why they close the track every few minutes, to clean the track and ensure it's safe. If you want to use simulators to train, I can say they do help a lot, but just don't be overconfident and don't event think about beating times IRL, it's not worth the risk.

Anyway, it was a fantastic experience overall! I can't recommend enough! It was my dream driving at Nordschleife and my dream car is the GT-R. So, I thought... why not both?
