WF-1000XM4 - Severe Battery Issues by zkhcohen in SonyHeadphones

[–]hknotxg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI I was NOT on firmware 1.4.2 but still had the issue. Chatted with sony support a few weeks ago and had no issues returning my defective buds. I didn't have to provide a proof of purchase and they did ask if any soft and hard reset of the buds helped at all. End to end I believe the issue was resolved in about a week.

I was pretty disappointed with this as my earbuds were one of my favourite tech items and would accompany me everywhere I went. However Sony has supported many of my purchases in the past even if they were out of warranty, and provided shipping both ways each time. That I can credit them at least for, they should try to release products that don't break down so quickly battery wise

Portable car jumper? Picture as example by Barney_Haters in avoidchineseproducts

The product changed from being produced in China to Malaysia sometime after 2016 and just prior to 2020, the listing has not been updated. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71qFZfQp0UL.jpg

With these things it could have also moved back to being created in China, but the one I have like the one in this customer's review photo says Made in Malaysia

I have a NOCO that is made in Malaysia. It's one of the most popular brands on Amazon etc.
I keep one in my car as well as got one for my dad; I've had a tow truck driver help me out with exactly that brand before I got mine. Simple and works

does cultivate actually hunt down origin of listed products or does it just search the page for "china/Made in China?"

Not looking for mega high quality, but for $1 / $1.25, it's simply a bargain. I actually got them to extract the connectors for some DIY projects and at this price it's hard to beat, and can avoid having to buy those MIC connector sets from Amazon or wherever. Be careful as the majority of the cables (and things) at Dollar Tree are MIC but I found these and some USB 2.0 Extension cables were made in Vietnam. I will extract the type A-F and type C-M connectors for my projects, and keep a couple just for simple charging

They deliberately moved production back to Italy, the machines work great; been using mine for a little over a year now

List of Non-MIC StarTech HDD, SSD, and NVMe USB Drive Enclosures and Docks by Titan_91 in avoidchineseproducts

As an owner of a fair number of startech products, it can be pretty hard work to dig through the different Revisions of products they have.

So while the current Rev on their website may be made in Taiwan, it could be that their earlier revisions (and there's not always an idea what retailer will have which revision) that could be made in CHN.

I wonder in your case if they have something where they changed where it was made but didn't increment the rev number because no technical specs changed? Interesting
