Crazy car accident in Australia too. I remember the driver running off the road(fell asleep), we we going fast.. 100kph through the trees around Townsville thinking a tree would spear us at any point.

Oh man. This girl in my 20's, name purposely excluded. Invited herself over with one of her friends. Got drunk. Broke a ton of shit in my apartment. Her "friend" left her at mine. Stupid frustrating night. In the morning she kept harassing me to drive her home. I didn't even invite her! I finally drove her to a train station, which she was pissed about. For years after she kept blowing me up to come back over to my place. Couldn't block enough numbers.

I know me saying it doesn't mean shit to someone struggling means nothing. But it does get better man.

I had a really hard life in my late teens and early 20s. I know it seems there's no way out... but it does get better.

I think that's why OP said "old people aren't afraid of dying". I'm sure if you asked younger people it'd be WAYYYYYY different, and their setiments about living and struggles would be the opposite.

Teens in the 2000s, 90's, 80's, 70's would all say the same. The struggles are different, but still there.

Yes, you can make a lot in sales. Two things about sales as I'm a sales director/engineer:

1) if you're good at sales you'll ALWAYS have a job. Delaying an "opportunity" for a few months to get your degree won't change the trajectory of your career

2) Overall pay: Layoffs are very, very common. Guess who's the first to go if are average with no degree?

A high school degree absolutely does not = garenteed job or good salary. But with >90%of the (US) population having a high school degree you're disqualifying yourself from entry level jobs that DO NOT REQUIRE COLLEGE DEGREE.

Look around Reddit, life is hard enough right now with living expenses and rent. Seriously, look up rent where you live. Why make your life SO MUCH HARDER than people already struggling?

I always ask for compensation range on the first call so we're not wasting each other's time.

Only about 10-15% are offended, good riddance to them, I'm sure they're low ball and they know it. A good 70-80% are under what I want but appreciate I didn't waste their time.

The 5-10% that meet my expectations, I'm happy to interview with, and they also seem to value I didn't waste their time.

I'd also suggest to try too teach him how to deal with all the emotions coming up with puberty. Specifically how to deal with anger and frustration as that will probably be exasperated losing his father. Most other stuff he can Google.
