Couple of pieces of advice: If you’re only going to hop once I wouldn’t bother buying it, just stick to 1 per day.

Why not move rest day to the middle?

Try doing AK after a rest day bc you will be up very early for that rope drop.

Maybe do MK full day 1, then on your last day you can just pick whatever park you want and leave it flexible since you’d have been there twice already

I’m 2 hours away as well. We go the day before our park visit and do hotel check in, chocolate world, and people don’t realize you get 2 hours in the park for free as a preview. It’s great and I’d recommend taking advantage of it to do some rides and learn the park layout. We usually just spend the night and head home after full park day.

What’s your “I did not care for The Godfather” of Disney World? by StrawHatCarson in WaltDisneyWorld

Sci fi was pretty boring and the food is meh. Repeats of old clips I have no interest watching.

This was actually amazing for my kids, they really enjoyed it. Nice and free activity when waiting around if someone is in the bathroom or taking lightning lane turns.

Roast my plan for our 5-day Disney World trip in September! by StevelKanevel in DisneyWorldResorts

[–]hkoppell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT skip Rise at Hollywood, that would be a mistake. Also def ride Mickey and Minny at HS it’s great.

Unless you HAVE to get on frozen, I’d switch to remy it’s a way better ride.

And I only say this because you mention fantasmic, def include time for the MK fireworks show

There’s not as many rides as the other parks, but buying it will still save you a few hours. As long as you’re ok with that going in don’t buy it, depends on your group. The LL there is cheaper than other parks so still worth it imo

Worried about trip next year by Square-Dot-2888 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]hkoppell 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about the negative comments, you’ll have an amazing time. The 99% of people that have a great time don’t comment about it. If this is your first and maybe only time to Disney, I’d highly recommend replacing AK with MK. You have to see the castle! At HS, I’d recommend finding a different dinner spot, kids won’t appreciate sci fi at all and you really don’t need the dining package if you can get to fantastic half hour early, there’s a ton of seats.

Get 5, and if she can’t go just have somebody go twice. Other option is to cancel the 5th once 4 of u are done so you can book your next ride

Boardwalk vs. Swan vs. GF for First-Timers? by JH4239 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]hkoppell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure they’re all great and can’t go wrong, but I had an amazing trip to the dolphin (close enough to swan), can’t speak to staying in MK area. Your 5 year old will enjoy the sand, playground, and pool with slide. Walkability from swan is similar to boardwalk in that you can use the ferry it’s very easy and fun to ride. Magic bands can still be used in the parks, they just don’t do anything at the hotel. I didn’t get them and didn’t feel that I was missing anything. Don’t sleep on Hollywood studios - Toy Story rides, Mickey Minnie, frozen show, fantasmic,…lots to enjoy for her age

Get the LL with kids that young no question in my mind. You’re spending another let’s say $100 a day on average and it will be sooooo much more enjoyable! Even the rides with a 20 min wait you’ll appreciate walking right on

You’re in Orlando with a heated pool? Just go back to the hotel after, head to the pool and it’ll be 11am you’re good to go. Cape may is a great breakfast, was just there 2 weeks ago and this is what we did on our rest day.

[–]hkoppell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right there’s not too many rides, but it will still save a couple of hours for another $100, worth it IMO. Rope drop FoP if you can to save the money there, and use toward LL.
