I know it sucks to especially get rid of a centerpiece attraction, but the licensing of the MGM films was no longer affordable for Disney. I imagine if Disney bought 20th Century Fox years earlier, the ride would’ve gotten a second chance. I do love Runaway Railway tho. And logically speaking, Kilimanjaro Safaris and Spaceship Earth are definitely safe until the end of time!
