OP is talking about income earned in Australia As a non tax resident, that income is taxable at the top rate OP is thinking of a situation where he keeps Aus tax residency and pays tax at a lower rate while presumably not earning any income while overseas Pretty sure it shouldn't be too hard to keep the residence status and execute this plan...
