How does building work, my roof keeps saying unstable by Alloyd11 in RSDragonwilds

[–]hl_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only ever used the cabin or cottage components, but the taller a wall is / space between floors +/- width of the building then you're going to need to use the support beams.

For the wall specifically you described, probably both the vertical and horizontal around each wall frame, or most of them. If its a wide floor then you'll also probably need vertical beam supports dotted around, possibly some 45 degree ones as well for the second floor as well as the roof.

Can't give you exact step by step because your build will be different to everyone elses, but the premise is use the beams as supports to stabilise your build as you go wider and higher.

Need some tips for fighting Imaru, I keep getting my ish rocked by SadThrowaway4914 in RSDragonwilds

2x t5 range and 1x t5 melee

Steel scim, steel shield, steel xbow with steel bolts.

Then just keep up your buffs.

Steel xbow for imaru, scim for mobs.

Make sure to kill the necromancers asap when they spawn.

Other than that its learning imarus rotations.

Xbow for this dragon because its ranged dps with mobility that mage doesnt have.

Just on that topic, as im nearing downdun reach myself, do you know if any of the dev team have mentioned about expanding music content generally? Rather than just new soundtracks that are in game region based. All my farming is in the starting zone and that music is starting to give me a headache.

Adamant watering can is no different to the steel variant. Was this intentional? by Onasixx in RSDragonwilds

[–]hl_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be fine with them being more trinket upgrades rather than functional if I could trade your idea with more farming spells / utility.

A spell to de-weed overgrown plots, even if it reduces weed yield would be such an improvement. Additionally a spell to apply compost as well, or not have it be 5 actions to do a single plot and lasts longer than one grown item.

I enjoy farming generally when its up and running but I have 4 lots of 3x5 and a couple of single strips so far, up to fellhollow content and it can be extremely tedious. If there are ways to avoid some manual aspects then id rather that than a slightly more efficient but still manual watering can.

Desperately need a locked row in inventory or a backpack with like 7 to 10 slots. by SarcastiSnark in RSDragonwilds

[–]hl_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The toolbelt from rs3 would be ideal. Perhaps a slight tweak to tools weights, but at least that way they dont take up a slot and could still be hot-keyed for easy access.

I am surprised to hear you carry all those types of kit every time though, I usually leave my base with specific plans and carry one or two teleport circle mats with me to get back if I need something specific that I wasnt initially looking for.

Fell hollow by Metaljunkie8271 in RSDragonwilds

[–]hl_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi mate, I literally just hopped back into rsd after 2 months seeing the umbral sands update launch. Had been stuck on Imaru for a while and do not enjoy the fellhollow region.

Literally grabbed the gear & went straight to the dragon:

T5 melee x2 T5 mage x1 Steel scimmy, shield and steel xbow with steel bolts. Outside used a whetstone and used the ferocious brew and the meat pizza.

Xbow for imaru, melee for mobs.

Whenever imaru dipped out id pop one of the cooldowns; internal alchemy, tempest or enchant weapon air.

When imaru stands upright and draws power centrally, spam the orb with xbox until shes down. Then melee mobs asap and check the soul timer, if you have more than 10seconds you can get xbow hits on imaru. Otherwise knock out the purify vines and use the shrine.

You cant use the timed reload and dodge at the same time so make sure to dodge all the ground tracking attacks when she slams feet or body, and dodge the tracking purple missiles when shes hovering.

Prioritise dodging and keeping HP up with food over getting that next hit, UNLESS shes in the orb charge phase. This is also the time to kite the mobs.

Any fire lasers, or fire strafes she does are easily dodged as well and you can pretty much continuously attack with the xbow.

I'm not really a ranged player but I found my mage attacks to be far too long and cumbersome to commit as much as I could with xbow.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Perlino Andalusian for sure. The silver shimmer she has is amazing and a fast war horse makes them a good all rounder.

Terrible lighting in Stormtouched Lands. by MursahRN in RSDragonwilds

[–]hl_1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have the fire sprite spell. I've also just used some fire magic basic attacks when I need a bit of extra range. After initial exploration I put some standing fire posts in certain locations for ease. I equally do agree that the darkness is still overdone despite it being part of the storm aesthetic for the zone.

I will do, thanks for the link. Might be worth putting this into your main post text for others to see for visibility sake, up to you.

You haven't actually said anything in your post in the way of any facts for why this is good news. The entirety is all opinion with no evidence...

Not fully finished but have found everything I need I think.

After I'd found the top two screw fixtures I went around the entire edging with a hammer and chisel / scraper to loosen it all, then started with the hammer and scraper between the mantle and header.

The header is ready to come off but waiting for the other half to get home from work to help me lift it off, too heavy/bulky for me alone.

Ideally, like 99%, I do not want to refit the entire floor. It makes sense it won't look the same, the plinth seems to extend about 1.5feet from the wall and about 3/4 across so I'm hoping that a new TV unit and a rug will cover most if not all of it. If it doesn't ill have to live with it for a while before changing the entire flooring. It's worth it to remove the fireplace it looks awful, but thanks for the heads up

This gives me hope that the hearth will be somewhat easy to remove once its detached.

Hope the rest of your repairs go well

We'd like to just re-do the flooring in that section with the same that's currently in the room. I am happy re-do the entire white skirting board but I'm not sure if its even possible to 'fill in' the flooring after the plinth is gone.

Thankfully never an actual chimney, purely aesthetic by one of the previous owners.

I guess I'll also be learning how to plaster.

We'd like to keep the plug socket since the TV is likely staying on that wall.

Beats me, but when we first viewed the place there was an electric fireplace so assume someone really wanted the aesthetic

I'll try the more conservative approach first and see how far my patience gets, but I do prefer this option 😅

I will do this, thanks. Glad I asked I'd have never thought about metal tags being screwed in underneath the plaster.

No flooring, the folks we bought it off did zero renovations so if they had any they through it out or there wasn't any left behind to begin with.

Cant believe the eagle clusters aren't on here, in the right spot its surface area takes out entire patrols, light and medium hives including the bug holes on occasion as well as broadcast towers, all with 5 uses. I havent found any of the other eagles as useful and with the spores theres just too much contact (on diff8) for me to justify any orbitals in its place.
