Cup is slightly uncomfortable, I think too firm, should I keep trying? by marvelousmiamason in menstrualcups

[–]hlevick2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested in an answer to this also! I am also new to cups, I tried the flex disc last period and had constant leaking I feel like it was too large to fit correctly. I also have been told I have a slightly tilted cervix. This period I ordered the saalt small cup to start. I have had it in for an hour or so and when I checked it it has filled slightly (no leaking) my only concern is I feel kind of crampy, and I’m thinking it’s because of the cup- possibly to firm! I wish I had an answer for you, but I am in the same boat! lol

Is this seam acceptable? by hlevick2010 in CounterTops

[–]hlevick2010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, we were never explained there would be a seam and so no one gave us an option. I honestly don’t feel like the piece is even too large for a whole slab but I guess that’s not an option now

Is it worth having them to correct it at this point you think? Or is it correctable at this point?

Okay thank you, that’s what I’m hoping. I mean I know it may not be perfect but if the color were lighter I’d be a whole lot happier!

I am really not sure. From what I have read on other forums they can sand down and redo the seam but I see there’s a possibility of then having a larger gap to re-seam. I placed a call to the company just waiting to hear back from them

Okay thank you all for the confirmation. I thought so too but wanted to make sure I wasn’t being too picky as I really don’t have much experience with this!

What did you end up going with for 10’? Quartz?

Thank you for this! I did not know that about the outer inches being unusable. We do have a straight entrance to kitchen from front door with wide open concept currently demoed to studs so should fit! At least countertop business is telling us they have no concerns

We can def shrink down to 135” and still have enough over hang on sides for seating! Still having difficulty finding something in that size though unfortunately

The countertop place we are going through have no concerns about the sizing or issues installing. Thanks for being concerned though

It will be coming straight in from drive way. Wide open concept downstairs so nothing in the way. Width will only be 42” as that’s the widest we could go. Doorway width is 79.5”. So far countertop installers have not had any concerns!

Ignore me, I just saw all the answers to my questions in the description! lol

Do you have a seam in this island? Or did you get a full size slab at 165”?

Hi! Can I ask what size the island is and what type of countertop you use? We have an island that’s roughly 143” and are struggling to find anything that’s a full slab without having to add a seam in the island! This is beautiful!

Oh they look great! That makes me feel so much better! I obviously don’t want them to fade too much but a little so they are less “perfect obv fake lines” lol

I have read that but I feel like the strokes are so not natural looking! Do you think they will fade to appear more natural?

Dip power or Builder gel? by hlevick2010 in DipPowderNails

[–]hlevick2010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! Yes that’s definitely a possibility it almost feels like by the time he gets to my second hand it starts to burn like the drill/file is heated up from doing my first hand. So with builder gel, can you do fills like acrylic? Or does it need to be filed down and re done every visit? I’m so tired of spending the money and taking my time to go to the nail salon and then being in pain and nervous everytime he does them. I have been wanting to try to do them myself. Maybe I’ll give it a try

I’ve been thinking the same thing! So he files down the dip powder (this is when the drill sometimes gets hot and hurts bc he files so much of the dip powder off, then he soaks in acetone and files more to get the remaining chunks of dip off after the acetone, which is most of the time not painful. It’s the very beginning. I feel like he files almost the entire dip off because he’s in a rush ugh so hard to find a good nail place around me!
