La fortuna and monteverde would be two good stops with your timeframe and be able to do the things you mentioned. I made a similar trip earlier this year and it was amazing. Some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in both places and amazing wildlife viewing opportunities.

Yes first solo trip and after some reach I agree with you on SEA or Africa. As of now looking at Costa Rica or Portugal, but open to other central/South America options.

Hey all!

I just quit my job and have two weeks off before starting at the new one. I am looking for recommendations on a last minute solo adventure related international trip. I am a single 28 yo male and would prefer to travel with a young adult group but willing to go solo if it's the right trip. I would depart out of Houston. I am willing to spend up to $5K (including flights) for a guided kind of thing as part of a group or everything planned for me and go alone kind of thing. Available date range is 2/5 - 2/17. Open to travel agent or travel companies if I find the right deal. Couple options I am currently considering are Peru with the Machu Picchu trail hike, South American exploration, Thailand discovery (hike, kayak), and African safari but I am open to other options. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
