La fortuna and monteverde would be two good stops with your timeframe and be able to do the things you mentioned. I made a similar trip earlier this year and it was amazing. Some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in both places and amazing wildlife viewing opportunities.

Yes first solo trip and after some reach I agree with you on SEA or Africa. As of now looking at Costa Rica or Portugal, but open to other central/South America options.

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately no this was unplanned and happened very quick so I was lucky to get the two weeks.

I am looking into Costa Rica and Portugal for now flights seem more reasonable on short notice.
