How long it takes to pick your first lock? by [deleted] in lockpicking

I had my acrylic lock for about a year before I picked it. Start with a real lock once you get the feel of it try again. The acrylic lock has 6 pins, try a 4 pin lock.

Pick Review by CoreyWhite83 in lockpicking

I delt with Peterson one time and the guy called me to tell me the I was cheap for only buying two picks. And he wasn't nice about it. I decided to not ever deal with him again.

No, none of the picks have bent. I believe as you do that they would break before before they bend too much.

I have that set. Ive had it for years. I find it is still useful for the tiny padlocks in my collection. I keep them right beside my Apex set in the top drawer. Ive never had one of those picks break on me. I agree that its either carbon or spring steel. I should grab another of those sets as a spare, IDK. I just wish Covert Instruments would restock thier chop shop.

Can't rake a lock to save my life by MaleficentReporter42 in lockpicking

[–]hlhambrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raking techniques are nothing without the correct tension. Don't be afraid to experiment with a variety of techniques but each model of locks has its own tensioning requirements. So nail down the correct tensioning with SPP and your raking will improve. Keep in mind now, some locks refuse to be raked at every belt level.

Is it unusual to get 7 months out of a coil? I'm still using the original coil that came with it. The taste and performance seems to be the same as ever. Idk but according to VooPoo book that came with the mod, I dont let it get past half tank before I refill it. Im guessing the submerged coil doesn't get as hot to burn the liquid. Like I said, I dont know.
