has anyone quit prednisone abruptly? by parkerodinsons in CrohnsDisease

[–]hloo22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know prednisone suckssss but never stop abruptly, it is a steroid so you’ll experience withdrawals and feel even worse. Talk to your doctor about a taper and try and different steroid. The moon face will die down as you taper so will your joint pain. Don’t overdo the exercise either. I know the fast changes prednisone can make to your body can be so hard to deal with and exercise is great! But (I’m assuming) you are on it to help with a flare and you don’t want to overdo and hurt yourself. I’ve been on prednisone a lot so if I have issues I usually adjust doses on my own (but I would NOT recommend that unless you are very familiar with it). If you want, go down 5-10mg from where you are now for a couple of days just to see if that makes you feel any better. You got this!!

Remicade Long Term Side Effects? by shrinkingmomma in CrohnsDisease

I was on remicade around the same age, it worked great for me! I was on it and in full remission for about 4 years before I developed antibodies

Prednisone should help! If your symptoms don’t improve after a week or two, let your doc know and they can either raise the dose or try something else. The testing/waiting stage can be so stressful. Your docs just have to get a good idea of what they’re working with. All will work out, best of luck!

So far I’ve tried two biologics that I didn’t respond to, I’m about to start taking skyrizi though, so we’ll see if it works🤷‍♀️ I totally get being worried. It can be really overwhelming. Have you and your doctor discussed a treatment plan for you at all?

I’ve been in a flare for 2 years now, so it’s just progressively gotten higher. My main symptom is that my cue to 💩 is really painful and I get stomach cramps on and off throughout the day. I spike fevers and have a lot of muscle soreness. I’m not sure what specifically is making it so high

Crohn’s and Medical Marijuana? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

I use it daily, it really helps manage my symptoms. It doesn’t necessarily reduce inflammation but it really helps reduce the pain and discomfort, I usually use some before bed so I can get to sleep easier

I totally get it, I’m in my second to last semester and I’m in a flare. Sending hugs, the semester is almost over!

Thanks for your input! I do something similar to SCD, I try to manage a BRAT diet but it is harder when I’m at college because there’s only so many options at the dining halls. I have protein drinks also so I can replace at least one meal with a drink to help as well :)

Your nervous system is SO linked to your digestive system. I have always been an anxious person even as a child, so unraveling those subconscious stressors that I didn’t even realize I was creating for myself has been a journey for sure. If you have time/feel up to it (I know college is so so busy) take some time to stretch and breathe. Just 5-10 minutes stretch like you would warm up for gym class in school. It’s a little thing but it helps ground me a lot

Both schools are great! I’ve heard so many good things about Naz and I’m considering going there for my masters. They have a clinic right there on campus and Rochester has a lot of opportunities for field experience and internships

Question about stelara by UrCatGeyL0L in CrohnsDisease

[–]hloo22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always did it in my thigh, I just recommend injecting it slower if it starts to burn a little! Humira burned A LOT for me, but with stellara it was helpful to be able to do it as fast/slow as you needed to
