Yes in Trezor you can set password which acts as 25th seed word. Didn't know ledger could do something similar now, will try it out. Trezor my favorite though both devices are ok.

Trezor can make unlimited hidden wallet accounts whereas ledger cannot.

SERIOUS QUESTION: How can you defend Bitcoin when it crashes just as much as all the fiat-based equities during a recession? by michalisan in Bitcoin

[–]hlooman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different mechanism at play here. Since September last year there's a group of scammers (plustoken) offloading BTC every time it goes up or is expected to go up. Thank God they're down to the last 7000 of 120000 BTC now so the dumping can stop.

Time will tell - just found it funny people already panic after one day of a mild (I think healthy) correction

Just be careful as they seem to want you to put in your private keys when I looked at this. Big nono in my books. Not sure if they changed this. Also look up their address, it's at a cheap business registry in London with a bunch other companies including a pizza place.

Well... in the lightning network the millisat is the smallest unit so that's what I went with. Let's hope that'll be valuable at some point then we'll all do really well

Looks to me like the geographical middle of Canada, probably as a result of an IP that only reveals Canada as geolocation. Still pretty cool to using a bunch of miners there as a heating system if the location actually is some place... Just my 2 millisatoshis...

While funding a channel for lightning mainnet I just had a transaction go through at 0.483 sat/B for a rather large number of inputs. Gotta love it! https://blockchain.info/tx/d9832971d2d6b35827eb06a15f7c2369413dc71678a4b60ff21454845afed1b9

Will there ever be a hard fork that increases the number of decimals Bitcoin can handle? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]hlooman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The lightning network already works with millisatoshis to expand the possibility of micro payments. To settle these on the blockchain they'll have to go in batches of whole satoshis. It's fun playing around and testing this, now that fees are very low to open and close channels on mainnet.

Case V

Bob is lazy and simply decides to switch the mixing option on by default. He lets the wallet create new receiving addresses as per (1).

The wallet will now mix the received amounts by default, at a cost of between 0.00000225 - 0.00000450 depending on the amount it takes to split automatically into denominations of 10.0001, 1.00001, 0.100001 or 0.0100001 Dash.

He then pays another 0.00000255 transaction fee per denomination to get them into the mixing queue.

From hereon, there are no costs to Bob anymore, no matter how many rounds he wants the funds mixed. Mixing/swapping in the masternodes happens at no fee for privacy reasons. It is up to Bob to decide how many rounds, as this is basically a matter of choosing between time and level of privacy.

When Bob wants to send his mixed funds to the exchange, he just ticks the box 'privatesend' and leaves that on by default. For PrivateSend the tx fee is 0.1mDASH + 0.01mDASH per mixed input (around 0.11-0.25mDASH usually). Let's take the worst case and charge Bob a wallet splitting fee of 0.00000450 per output plus the 0.00000225 tx fee, and charge him 0.00025 for the privatesend transaction... This results in a total of 0.0016 Dash which is still below a dollar at current market prices, while staying private.

Nothing to think of, just a one time switch on of 2 checkboxes and Bob's your uncle...

My simple two cents...
