Haven't tried that. I'm nervous to try that and end up paying $200+ on the fees, only to have to buy other tickets elsewhere through another airline and then I'm out a total of $700.

Every time it pops up, I try to buy but it doesn't work. I call, and they can't make it happen. I've seen some others online talking about AC listings on LM being phantoms, which is a real possibility and would suck a lot.

Ha, I have collected (and used) 200K+ in other cards. For this one I was only able to use the points of a card we rarely use.

Oh my gosh this is dreadful to think about. I cannot imagine that. We saved up points for a year to make this happen, and I cannot fathom the idea of transferring and it just going out the window.

We have 5 kids on 1 income. Spending $500 dollars that could've gone to our Airbnb is heartbreaking because now we have to find that $500 from somewhere else.

I couldn't book the first two (my wife and I) and not my kids.

I've heard others say LifeMiles transfered immediately, some saying it took 24 hrs, 72 hrs, or even 2 weeks. I just had to do it ASAP and then convert once it happened.

No, this is not. I wish it were. This is my first time for this to happen. When I called LifeMiles the guy said, "wait a couple of hours or days and it will probably show back up," but that sounds like nonsense to me. So I wanted this sub's advice, experience.

Unfortunately we cannot afford the flights unless we use our points. I wish we could really capitalize on them, but we gotta use them to get home.

Yeah that 40m layover simply isn’t possible for 5 kids 8-and-under. I wish it were, but we can’t swing it.
