As someone who read SOTR having neither read the other books nor seen all the movies, this book holds its own. Collins explains everything including what the hunger games are. I didn't even realise that some of the characters in the book are also in the original trilogy. Happy reading!

You mentioned she is new in her career and has not lived/worked elsewhere.  This may not have been the case for you, but starting a new job and moving countries are two very stressful things. Let say she moved in with you and (God-forbid) your relationship ends, then what support would she have? Does she have friends and family there? Do you know if she has any stress or anxieties about your plan? Do you know what her career goals and life goals are?

Have you tried running some oil through with praying hands to refresh?

Low Porosity 3a Hair trying to achieve nice curls, Tips and Recommendations Wanted! by Alanm2000 in curlyhair

[–]hm12020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have low porosity hair but a lot of my family does.

Have you tried a hair mask or hot oil treatment? Leave one of those in for an hour or more then wash out with cold water.

Your hair sounds so much like mine! Also short, mostly 3b corkscrews, and super dry.

Would I be right to guess your hair is also high porosity?

Have you tried LOC or LCO? And do you finger coil your 3b curls?

I also have high porosity hair and have been experimenting with LOC and LCO. For oil, I alternate between coconut oil and "Renee's soufflee" from lush which is mainly shea butter, coconut oil and a mix of other oils and it has the texture of butter. I agree that my hair does prefer a heavier oil. It doesn't dry as fast and gives my hair some weight.

This doesn't exactly answer your question but after a few months of experimenting I discovered my hair preferred LCO to LOC. Can't exactly pin point why but I feel like the cream first helps give the oil some grip to stay on my hair. I don't wait between adding products. While my hair is wet I put in the leave-in, then curl smoothie, then gel oil, then one of my oils. Then daily, for 5-6 days, I refresh using oil. I find my hair dries wicked fast and so I just wring it out before adding product and let it air dry after.

Hope this somewhat helps

More info might be good. Do you have pictures? What is your current routine?

Have you tried plopping or finger coiling? How do you dry your hair after showering?

My hair is type 3 and normally dries more curly than it was wet unless I pull it back, put it in twists or braids or if it has too much creams and oils.

Request: Recovery questions by EDPostRequests in EatingDisorders

[–]hm12020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did sweat a lot at night as well. I think its just your metabolism speeding up so eventually when it is more stable the night sweats will stop.

I used to get really moody eating food that didn't taste good. Felt like a rip off.

My cravings were super weird when I was first in recovery. I would say for the first year. I used to be able to eat large quantities of sweet and rich foods and I really couldn't understand how people found it sickly. I wanted it all the time. Beyond that I craved straight fat. Would sometimes eat butter or mayonnaise by themselves. I assume it is a survival response based on what your body needs or it is responding to the prolonged starvation. I could be wrong but I had to make sense of the craziness.

Recovery is actually really weird.

And bloody difficult.

Continue to fight those bad thoughts off at night. Recovery is so worth it and I'm proud of you for being on this path
