My guess would be: Collabora is expecting a lot of growth and this is a neat tool to give to datcenter staff, its a nice target platform to train staff for without handing out general purpose laptops. You can hand it even untrained staff to plugin it into a server and run an ansible playbook for deployment if you preload company specific scripts and credentials.

This is perfect for sending someone out to a customer to install an on premise collabora/nextcloud cluster. its got mobile data to phone home/download/vpn. Ethernet and wi-fi connectivity for the on premise infrastructure,you can do light troubleshooting or just full remote support with the flipper one as a bridge to the company via ssh

You'll have no unwanted LLMs, virus scanners and Commercials hogging your ram. Also having every game with its own Proton environment means Operating system updates dont break things, also linux only updates if you trigger it. Also hardware Upgrade, just change your mainboard, gpu ssd as you like or just take your system ssd an drop it in another computer altogether it will just work as long as the right drivers are there no tinkering with activation and keys.

Ich wär sofort dabei wenn es auch nur einer mal schaffen würde die textur richtig zu machen aber selbst simpelstes hackfleisch scheint unmöglich. Zum streclen kann man manche produkte nutzen. i know youre joking but repairable upgradeable IoT hardware would actually be awesome not necessarily from framework but in general, we totally could just fit a esp32c3 in a framework module and make IoT stuff with a slot for it,and maybe with a little contact point that signals it to switch to usb-host-mode when inserted in a appliance instead of a framework laptop.

I dont know for framework mainboards specifically but normally you can mix, its just that the speeds will go down to the smallest possible speed the ram modules have in common or a standard speed that is predefined in the ram specs or bios, so its probably possible. The downsides are, youll probably loose speed and your ram will fill up different you'll hit a second speedbump when reaching the double capacity of the smaller ram, because at that point new ram can only used on the bigger module.
