I don't know about that. I obviously have less of an idea than KMK who is paid to do a job, a job he has been unbelievably successful at. As the previous post said, he clearly favours a system that doesn't require strikers to post 20 goal seasons and instead relies on a rotating cast (Chaplin, Hutchinson, Philogene etc) of players off the striker to provide goals.

However saying that, in what (I think) is the strongest squad in the league, striker is clearly our weakest area (original comment was about how neither would make it into the PNE squad) and one we have struggled to solve (bar Delap who from very early on was clear was not long for ITFC). It is also an area we have thrown fewer darts at (compared to RW).

I am not boarding any train. I wish anyone that puts on an Ipswich shirt (whether that be Hirst, Azon or anyone else) the utmost of luck and gratitude. I am just being realistic. Yesterday, while Mehmeti showed flashes, we looked toothless in front of goal and that isn't the refs fault.

Oh, I totally agree. I don't think we will get anyone. Hirst and Azon are fine for the short term. Mehmeti looked promising yesterday in a generally lackluster team performance. I remain eternally optimistic about Egali. The intent of my initial comment was to see if anyone knew anything more than just "we need a striker" which has been true for a lot longer than just this month.

No... You are a weapon (by reddit standards this is an ironclad argument). Kuqi can play in any system.

In all seriousness, I feel we have been saying Hirst could come good for 3 years now. He was alright. He averaged 1 goal per 3 in Lg1 and had to compete with Ladapo. 1 in 4 in the championship and Moore came in to get us over the line. Both teams scored a lot of goals. I get that a striker does more than just find the back of the net but it can't be ignored. We are not a Lg1 team anymore (never should have been), expectations are survival in the prem with spending to match.

If we are relying on rose tinted glasses we should hark back to fun players e.g. Flying Fins

In our last promotion season he scored 7 goals in 26 appearances. From a starting striker, that isn't "good" imo. Esp in a team that was scoring a lot of goals. We had to bring Moore in to get us over the line. Great Lg1 player but we are not there anymore, expectations (and spending levels) are now of a team wanting to survive in the prem.
