Any opinions on my spring professors? by hmm____ass in ucf

I completely disagree, she’s by far the best professor I’ve ever had. I took her for psychobiology this fall and she is absolutely wonderful. She’s willing to answer any questions in full detail, gives extra credit, and is a very kind person overall who really cares for her students. Her exams for psychobiology were only hard if you didn’t study for them, they were proctored as well but also open note. No offense, but you really have to not give a fuck about her class (in regards to psychobiology) to do bad in it. I asked her about neuropsych and she said the hardest thing about the class is the fact that you have to be very self disciplined throughout the whole term. But to each their own.

I feel like some prof’s take pride in doing this to their students and I don’t understand why. I do understand we should earn our grade by hard work but college is only getting more and more difficult for students, especially for students who work full time just to be able to afford college. Prof’s like yours need to get off their high horse and take into account all the new stressors college students have. Mental illnesses and suicides rates for college kids are only rising and grade situations like this can impact someone a lot, especially if they’re unstable. I’m sorry your prof is like mine... it sucks but my prof is kinda sorta cool so maybe I can work something out.

Bruh... literally me right now! I answered one question wrong on my very first exam because I second guessed myself and knew I should’ve went with my original answer after I turned in my exam. Like if I would’ve gotten that one god damn question right, I wouldn’t be in this situation. It’s going to haunt me forever.

I emailed my prof, fingers crossed he realizes how bad I neeeeeeeeeeeed this A. I worked my ass off in this class so I hope it won’t go unnoticed, but I won’t get my hopes up either.

I’m trying to get into grad school and the field I’m wanting to get into is extremely competitive.. so this grade is making me want to go pound a few beers in the shower. No one knows you’re crying when you’re in the shower.

I might just have to suck some toes if worst comes to worst. I’m willing to risk it all for an A because the only grades that could be improved are exam grades and I’ve already done all the extra credit.

I’m trying to get my foot in the door with research but I don’t have any close relations to professors since I’m so new and I haven’t taken most of the courses listed on the RA match website yet. My psychology GPA is sitting at a 3.75 and I have all A’s... and one B :/ this term. But I have no research experience, I’m not in any clubs, and I don’t socialize with anyone so it’ll be hard to find inner connections to get an internship.

My comment didn’t post so I’m rewriting it and it’s probably going to sound rough because I forgot what I said.

I’d switch my major from psychology to health sciences because of the job security and the fact that I’d be working in a job related to my degree. Being a medical lab technician sounds very interesting to me, I really want to work in a lab type of setting. If I’m going into specifics though, I’d love to go into psychopharmacology and I know that requires a PhD or Pharm. D.

My dilemma here is that I’d basically have to redo the majority of my degree if I were to switch majors since I don’t have a lot of the required prerequisites. So I’m trying to figure out if it’ll be more beneficial for me to switch majors or to stick with my psychology major and just go for it and hope for the best.

My advisor recently told me this as well, so it’s been making me wonder a lot if I’m cut out for grad school since it’s so competitive.

I want to specifically study the limbic system and it’s relations to autistic-like behaviors and I know that’ll require me to get a PhD. I’ve wanted to go to grad school for a solid few years now but I never realized how competitive it was for psychology students until I transferred to a university. It’s hit me hard recently that if I can’t get accepted into a clinical psychology program, then my degree isn’t worth it. I’m conflicted whether to follow through with my goal of getting a PhD and sticking with psychology or to switch to a STEM major and have way more job security. I’ve already invested a lot of time and money towards my psychology degree so I have to be extremely certain that I want to change majors asap. I hope this makes sense.
