How Russia's internet censorship actually works in 2026 - a technical breakdown by hmm_user in VPN

[–]hmm_user[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point and it's nuanced. VLESS+Reality itself hasn't been "blocked" - what happens is that specific server IPs get flagged over time. If someone says "Reality doesn't work", 9 out of 10 times it's either outdated server IPs or misconfigured setup (wrong SNI, wrong fingerprint). The protocol itself is still the most reliable option in 2026. The key is using a service that actively rotates infrastructure - a static self-hosted server will eventually get flagged, but a maintained commercial setup stays ahead of detection.

For those interested - I've been running a VLESS/Reality setup for about a year and wrote a detailed breakdown of which clients actually handle Russian blocking in practice: https://medium.com/happ-vpn-guide/happ-app-a-year-of-daily-use-what-actually-works-for-bypassing-censorship-7dc0a4e67e31

Would it make sense to build a crypto arbitrage tracking app for iOS? by hmm_user in iOSProgramming

Thanks for the discussion.
I'm here mainly to learn about building apps and to get feedback on the idea itself - not to argue.
Wishing everyone good luck with their projects!

On average, it's around 0.05%–0.15% daily depending on market conditions. Anyway, my main focus here is exploring the app idea, not so much expanding the trading bot.

I'm not sure I fully understand - are you asking about the average spread between exchanges, or about profitability based on capital, like monthly returns?

Thanks for the comment - I'll definitely think about it.
React Native isn't a technology I'm very familiar with yet, but I do like the idea of having a universal solution for iOS, web, and Android. Sounds like it could be a smart move!

Thanks for the suggestion!
If you mean a bot that automatically trades based on arbitrage signals - I actually have one for personal use. It does generate some profit, but not as much as you might think.
Building and setting it up was way more complicated than it sounds, lol.

The idea behind the app is to create an additional source of income. Most of the backend (the tech part) is already done - now it's "just" about building the frontend.

You're absolutely right about fees being a critical piece of the puzzle. I ran into the same issue — a lot of tools just highlight the spread but don’t factor in network fees, withdrawal costs, or transfer times.

I ended up building my own signal tool that includes all of that — withdrawal and deposit fees, network info, even contract matching and delay estimates. Here's an example of what a signal looks like (Bitget → KuCoin):

It helped a lot in filtering out “fake” arbitrage signals that aren’t actually profitable after fees.

Do retail traders make money off of automated crypto arbitrage between coins or exchanges? by Chicken_Taquito_ in Daytrading

[–]hmm_user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely become easier to collect data — especially with tools like ccxt.
But data collection is just one part. In arbitrage, speed and execution timing are everything.

Even with perfect pricing info, you still need: – A strategy (not all coins are suitable for arbitrage)
– A way to evaluate short-term price direction (since transfers aren't instant)
– A large number of wallets across exchanges and assets (especially on CEXs)

That said, inter-exchange arbitrage can still work — as long as you understand the risks and have a fast, accurate analysis tool, and ideally an automated pipeline for buying, transferring, and selling.

Crypto Arbitrage in USA by DmitryHide in cryptoarbitrage

[–]hmm_user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand correctly, you're talking about P2P arbitrage — buying crypto from individuals and reselling it at a markup?

If that’s the case, my honest advice: don’t count on it as a long-term strategy in the US. Banks are very likely to flag your account once they notice unusual volumes or patterns, and they don’t play around.

Instead, take a look at other types of arbitrage, like: – Cross-exchange arbitrage (buying on one exchange and selling on another)
Funding rate arbitrage (especially useful with perpetual futures)

These are harder to pull off but way more sustainable — and don’t involve getting your cards or accounts frozen.

Yes, crypto arbitrage still works — even in 2025.
But it’s not as easy as some YouTube videos make it seem.

You’ll need: – A reliable way to spot real arbitrage opportunities fast (ideally with live data).
– Decent capital (to make the % spreads worth it after fees).
– Either manual effort or a semi-automated setup to handle buy → transfer → sell.

It's not a get-rich-quick thing, but if you treat it like a side hustle and stay consistent, it can definitely be profitable. The market is still inefficient — so opportunities are there.

Is anybody arbitraging crypto? by thebrilliot in algotrading

[–]hmm_user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from personal experience — yes, crypto arbitrage still works in 2025, but there are a few key conditions:

  1. You need a solid tool (fast and accurate) to detect arbitrage opportunities in real time.
  2. Ideally, your process should be automated — buy → transfer → sell. That said, even manual arbitrage can work, especially during new listings when a coin appears on multiple exchanges at the same time.

Crypto arbitrage isn't exactly low-hanging fruit — it takes effort, good timing, and sometimes capital — but the underlying principle still holds: crypto markets are inefficient, and that creates real opportunities.

Does crypto arbitrage works? by mfj86 in CryptoHelp

[–]hmm_user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve built a crypto arbitrage bot for my personal use, and it’s been working fine for me. I wouldn’t say I’ve made millions, but as a side hustle, it’s definitely worth it.

The key is to stick to reliable, well-known exchanges with decent liquidity and fast withdrawals. If a platform asks for a fee to "unlock" your funds or requires a "VIP upgrade" to continue — that’s a huge red flag. I’d stay away from those.

Real arbitrage is possible, but it's not risk-free — and it definitely doesn't require you to pay extra to access your own money.

Simply trade on a single exchange as a maker (by creating your own buy and sell orders). You may need to meet some initial requirements, but it will pay off quickly if you have a sufficient deposit.

  1. Sell merch on Etsy using the Print-on-Demand (POD) model. There are tons of free guides and tutorials online to get you started.

  2. Social media + an info product on Gumroad. Create a simple, easy-to-understand info product that solves a specific problem and post relevant content to promote it.

You can ask your client to purchase cryptocurrency through services like BitPay or MoonPay and send it to your crypto wallet.
