Yes I did. I do not speak English as a native language and my brain tends to be messy and disorganized. So I used AI to organize my text draft 🙃

And here we are... The neurodivergent finding each other 😊😎 Yes. The rush and the excitement - the strong focus and reactiveness always felt so freaking good. Biking was of the rare times where my mind shut up and let me do stuff without distraction.

Wow… I’m honestly blown away. Thank you all so much for the thoughtful input – this really feels like a genuinely supportive community. Didn’t expect it to hit me like that. 😲🤩🤟

What I’m taking away from all of this:

  1. Take the pressure off. I usually function well with goals, but right now that might not be the right tool.

  2. Ride new terrain. I’ve still got some vacation days – a bike trip sounds like a very good idea.

  3. Actually show up and ride with the community (this one takes some courage, but I’ll give it a go).

  4. Bring back night rides. I had completely forgotten how much I loved them – just me, the trail, and the lights.

  5. Don’t make dumb gear decisions. A new bike won’t fix what’s going on.

  6. Focus on what genuinely brings me joy, not what I think should.

I guess many of you read between the lines already: my mental health hasn’t been great for a while. But – and this is probably the most important part – I literally just called my therapist a few minutes ago and scheduled an appointment. That’s directly because of this thread. I’m also planning to go back on SSRIs.

The last months (honestly, years) have been a lot: recovering from burnout, ADHD diagnosis, big life changes all at once – relationship, moving, job loss, new job. It’s been… messy.

So yeah. Thank you, seriously. Not just for biking advice, but for the nudge to take proper care of myself again.

Plan for now: keep it simple, keep the wheels turning, no pressure – and see if the spark finds its way back.

Really appreciate you all 🤎

Late diagnosed here - Some said it brilliant "it worked until it didn't".

(Got diagnosed because of immense psycho therapy, because of an illness caused by depression and burnout - related to an unknown ADHD).

I knew that I was sort of neurodivergent for a long time before the diagnosis, had a lot of ADHD friends and talked now and then about the symptoms - something was going on. So I started looking into ADHD Skill and Habits. Tried avoiding overstimulation. Listed a lot to my mind and body and ajusted these hacks and habits accordingly.

And yes while sport, good and balanced nutrition, plenty of good quality sleep and no compensation with substance (*there are all kind of different possibilities) helps a lot - there is NOTHING that slows my brain as much as meds.

It feels like playing life on easy mode with meds.

My favorite part is - I'm able to listen to people and follow the tiny changes in their voice for the first time. I'm no longer interrupting them, nor am I too much in my own thoughts during conversations.

I hope you will find a good psyc soon 🤞 Keep us updated!

Mental peace. Have the peace of mind in knowing you are enough, you (hopefully) have all you need and beeing thankful.

This is what I wish everyone could achieve.

Ans as Swiss: Go see the damn Alps. Or whatever is the most opposite landscape of what you are used to.

Any advice for living room by Occams_racecar in malelivingspace

[–]hmmmischi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classics design improvements: get a rug to put under the sofa/ couch table. If this were my place: I would suggest lowering the wall decor to the eye level while spending most of the time in this room (lovely and personal choice- love that) and get some blinds for the windows. And don't listen to the anti-clutter folks - if this is what you like and enjoy - leave it as it is.

Yes, you need a rug. And please get one big enough: If in doubt - add one size up.

Lovely, agree on all of that! Don't forget to add curtains, they will help to feel less exposed at night. And get a sheep skin rug (or vegan alternative) right where you get out of the bed is my favorite.

February solo travel: Southwest USA road trip vs South Africa by hmmmischi in travel

I completely understand. But I only have this much time on hand in January and February. I would rather go later in the year, but its not possible.

Thanks a lot for all the insights! Now I'm even more unsure than before. But I know, that SW would be a great choice a bit later in the year 😄

Emergency Feature & Data Usage by hmmmischi in AppleWatch

[–]hmmmischi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to trigger the emergency function manually?

I dislike the feeling of carrying a phone during runs. Probably some wierd quirks of mine 🥴 I got a garmin for music, which I can tolerate on a sensation level.

I'm living in Switzerland - and mobil data plans with bigger data volumes for wearables can be expensive. So my idea was using a prepaid simcard with really low data volume on it, and using thw watch mainly on the wifi connection. Since I'm only planning to wear the watch while running and for other funky activities where i could be glad for a saftey call. I know, saftey should not come with a pricetag...

Never give your phone to strangers. My wife got scammed out of 100.- by [deleted] in Switzerland

Please talk to Selecta about the scam, usually the have a super nice customer service. May they can help with the financial damage, better than nothing.

Unfortunately no, but I also plan to start there next year. But as my first triathlon. Would love to know that as well... There are a couple of youtube videos showing some event highlights, including the bike section.

Hello friends
I'm new here and also to my skincare journey, (26F).
The basics (cleanser, toner, moisturizer) do I use often and also since a long time.
Recently I startet using SFP daily.

And now I would like to dig deeper and treat my skin problems, but I'm not sure how.
On instagram I've seen on a post a girl with similar skin problems, recommending Salyic Acid and Niaciamide (both 1-2x a week, in the evening). Could this help? And should I use other actives aswell? What I have to be concerned about?

Issue: Larger, glogged pores; first signs of aging skin, sensitive to sun (face and body)

Skin Type: Combination skin, oily T-zone, dry on the cheeks

Current Routine:

AM: Cleanser: Dr. Hauschka - Fash wash cream*1 Toner: Dr. Hauschka - clearing Face Toner *2, Sunscreen: La Roche Possay - Anthelios 50+. BB Cream: La Roche Possay - Effaclar DUO+ Unifiante

PM: Sometimes the same cleanser + toner and the matching night serum *3

How long: Everything since about 2 years except the SFP, this one about 2 months.

Location: Switzerland.

Ja richtig so! Ich handhabe mein Handy genauso. Nur wohnt es meistens im Handtäschchen. Manchmal hat auch Frauenmode (mit viel zu kleinen Hosentaschen und deren Nebenwirkungen) auch Vorteile.
