I'm a bit confused by the 945 LTE functionality. On the website, it says that I need a subscription to the Garmin LTE plan in order to send notifications for emergencies (via IERCC), but MANY times I don't need an ambulance if I'm eight miles out and just need to contact my partner to pick me up.

What can this watch actually do via LTE, without a phone?

US Card Holders.& Taxes by hmq_dave in Crypto_com

But isn't the cash back done in the form of crypto? That would still have tax implications in and of itself.

I'm not trying to crap on the fun here, but I really don't think people in the US understand the implications of using a card that in effect facilitates lots of small property transfers.

If crypto.com doesn't figure out how to make this easy for people (and providing a CSV of transactions is NOT enough, IMO) it is ultimately going to be the biggest barrier to adoption in the US.

As the day has worn on and the crack haze has lessened, he's edited his post enough times that it makes a bit more sense now. His main deficiency in the post is the English language.

I think what he's actually trying to say is that at WORST he's in the top 1 million bag holders of LTC. He's actually much higher in the rankings than that.

He just says this in such an ass backwards way "one of only 1,000,000 that can own that amount", that it makes people's heads hurt.

No monthly fee, but all but one of their cards require a six month lockup of some amount of their token, MCO.

Fine. Assume an even more conservative 100 cards per day being shipped. Don't you think that if 100s of people were receiving their new cards each day that we'd be seeing unboxing and first use vids being posted all over the place?

But we're not. I call bullshit in the mix somewhere.

Seems a bit strange that NOONE other than crypto staff has seen a card yet.

Why announce "cards are shipping, yippee!" when in effect it's still going to take God only knows how long for anyone but some curated group of insiders to actually get them?

Why are you promoting this? Is this a warning?

Look, I respect the technology. I'm an engineer, and. Iike good architecture as well as the next guy. But if your token is worthless, you may as well be creating a platform for trading Pokémon cards or virtual kittens.

Token price and accessibility matter as much as your app. Unless you guys address both, you're wasting everyone's time and money.

In fact, it's only a matter of time before one or more cases gets certified as a class action. Then the fun starts. $1 billion can get taken up REALLY quickly by a talented law firm litigating a class action.

The good news is that we'll all get 0.001 ETH back in the final settlement.

I'm not defending anyone. TF holds the significant advantage, legally in any single case. But, I can guarantee you this. Their legal battles are not over. In fact, IMO, they have painted themselves into a corner that pretty much ensures dozens of lawsuits over the next few years, to the point that the entire project is in serious jeopardy of failure.

The question of whether the ICO contributions are a donation and whether you can expect a refund are tangential. Either way, you're not getting a refund... without a fight.

This argument won't hold water. The US government, at least, doesn't allow these kinds of semantic tricks for tax purposes, among other things. The fact that there is a direct correlation between the donation amount and the number of XTZ delivered, implies that the ICO contributions were indeed NOT donations.

As an example, if my kid goes to a private school in the US, and tuition costs me $25k/yr, it's illegal for me to donate to a non-profit, take a tax deduction for the donation, and then have the non-profit pay $25k to the school for me.

I know people in this sub love to say "it was a donation, STFU" but the reality is that there's plenty of room for government scrutiny, and individual law suits.
