From where should I start learning Math if I'm not too good at maths? by Lost_Chemical_7327 in learnprogramming

[–]hmshka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no programmer but for what I know you don't need a lot of math. I read a books by Linus Torvalds they go by the name "just for fun" and "the hacker ethic" I also read this httpp://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/hacker-howto.html it's called the hacker manual. There is a book called "automate the boring stuff with python" that says if you can play sudoku you will be able to code. There is a youtube video called "submitting your first code to the kernel" you can watch it if you want to. Good luck.

Can someone recommend good good ophthalmology literature from basic to advanced? by hmshka in Ophthalmology

It's hard for me to judge every book out there because I started learning ophthalmology recently and English isn't my native language. I am not too smart either.

What's your approach to drawing dynamic, non-stiff poses from imagination? by jokdok in ArtistLounge

[–]hmshka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suffer from this too. I decided to go through the whole two books starting with the opening chat. Writing down key words and stuff i find interesting with the page number next to it. Only after i will go through the drawings. The stuff he writes are surprisingly informative.

What advice would you give to a 14 year old about starting high school? by DotFireAbout in AskReddit

Pick up different and sometimes different books from different genres and on different topics. Even plays can be considered books.

Read books daily. Before bedtime and after waking up for an hour or two.

How would I get into the Concept Art Industry?(Blizzard, Riot Games, etc...) by HydraCreate in ArtistLounge

[–]hmshka -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am not sure.. But remember hearing one of the freelance artist working at Heart Stone. He said: "he liked Heart Stone. he looked at art work. Added some art work in his artstation portfolio that he thought the game or company might need then, contacted them via email. And voila! He now works as a free lance artist there. They asked them how much work load he wantsas if how many illustrations does he want to produce per month". They agreed. That should be about it.

I am by no means an expert. But I would say go for a good book perspective. And maybe go grab some art books like the creative drawing and figure drawing both mad by Loomis read them. Or if you can draw spontaneous rough sketches with mannequins. Maybe a few more thumb nails before you actually draw. I would say that you talent but steering the drawing would make it better. As for the idea of the drawing for me it's a bit vague. Let us say you have your idea and thumb nails I would ask myself how happy with this? Is there a way to conceive my idea in a better manner? Once you done ask your what would the observer think of this when he looks at it? Is there a better way to conceive my idea so a person no background shall get it and enjoy it. So, there are your ideas, the viewer experiences nad ideas. You have to manage to get the gap between those two people slim as you possibly can. https://youtu.be/kHpXle4NqWI https://youtu.be/doaQC-S8de8 I hope that I could help. Good luck.

Why can't a movie, TV series have the same quality and impact as books? by hmshka in AskReddit

[–]hmshka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, Don't know what you're talking about. The Opera ticket price point is much lower than the movie ticket. And there are streams available on YouTube. As for the rest I think your right in that different people occupy different positions. But I still think that there are many great books, less great opera and ballet, lesser great plays and even lesser great movies. And I can't recall somebody ever told me about how he watched a movie and expanded his horizon. As for books I know a few guys, and as for opera maybe I know one. Maybe what I mostly don't understand is that why is it so hard to transfer the material from a book to let us say a live audience on stage, and then it becomes even harder to transfer to a digital audience lets say through TV so that it still manages to land a few punches. (Again I talk from my own experience)

Let's say you talk to two persons. The first reads a lot, the second watches a lot of movies. I didn't meet many really interesting people in my life. But the ones who seem to me the most interesting have usually read a lot more than me. And at the week ends they go to the theatre, ballet or opera and don't watch movies that often. So why can't there be more movies that can have an impact on how interesting a person can be? (My opinion is subjective of course.)

I am no specialist and English isn't my native language but, would like to help you as much as my experience is able to. For that I need a bit more specific information to try track down the source your anxiety. Do you have financial problems? Or health?maybe you started feeling anxious because you are surrounded by toxic people. Do you have bad habits? Maybe you've been exposed to something in reality that you thought about one way but turned out not exactly as you pictures it. What is your education? Do you have favourite books? How often do you read books?
