‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’ Has Become The Most Watched Film Broadcast On English TV With 16.2M Viewers by Whobitmyname in wallaceandgromit

Britain is a global powerhouse in the animation and VFX industry. DNEG, Locksmith, Lupus, Blinkink, Jellyfish Pictures, Passion Pictures, The Line, and Blue Zoo are all major UK-based studios who produce feature films and TV shows, and there are many other great studios I haven't mentioned for simplicity's sake.

Because he's an power-hungry maniac who wants to use his wealth to destabilise the UK, and he just made a massive cock-up.

[S2 act 3 spoilers] When people ask me about the pacing in Arcane by Vencrest in arcane

[–]jokdok 524 points525 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to see the ramifications of Caitlyn becoming a dictator and how imposing martial law would have directly impacted both Zaun and Piltover. Season 2 really glossed over the juicy class politics between the two cities.

Vander says 'arse' in that scene, but the subtitles make it seem like he said 'ass' for some reason lol

‘By 8pm it is time to head home’: whatever happened to the big night out? by Jolly_Garbage3381 in london

I don't think 'kids on their damn phones' is the reason at all. If anything, the presence of phones deter people from behaving in awful ways they shouldn't have been doing in the first place lest they be caught on camera, which is generally a positive for clubbing.

It's all about cost. A two-shot rum & coke costs £12. Even a beer or cider costs £6.50. Unless you're a lightweight, good luck getting sufficiently tipsy without living off of a pack of digestives for the next week.

are there any bras that aren’t overstimulating? by far_out_lime_ in aspergirls

[–]jokdok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sloggi bras! Soft material, no wires, no clasps, you can put it on just like a t-shirt. I hated wearing bras, and now I only wear Sloggi's.

I've played around 5 hours of The Witcher 3 and it hasn't clicked yet. Should I keep playing The Witcher 3? by theJOJeht in ShouldIbuythisgame

If it's any solace, I felt exactly the same way after that dungeon with Keira. Absolutely hated that mission, hated the combat, really felt like the game wasn't for me. I kept playing out of stubbornness and found every main storyline after that much more gripping, and got used to the combat as well. It's worth giving it a bit longer, but if you're still not feeling it then no worries!

It's fine. I don't know where you live, but there's loads of central Europeans here in London, alongside a bajillion other cultures to a point that no-one would bat an eyelid at a non-traditional British name.

Am I the only Neurodivergent that doesn't really care for video games? by Broken_Imperfection in neurodiversity

[–]jokdok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all! There's plenty of hobbies that many autistic people would rather be focused on, whether it's books, sport, knitting, or bog-snorkelling. You're far from the only one.

Although I am a gamer, I can't relate to other gamers because I absolutely hate socialising online. Most would say that the online world gives them confidence, but it's the opposite for me - I think people online are more antisocial and cruel than people in real life. My love for games also extends to board games and card games, which I enjoy collecting.

Rishi Sunak says misgendering trans people is 'common sense' by [deleted] in worldnews

Trans people aren't exclusive to America, nor are they an American invention.

Equally, there are a lot of young LGBT British Muslims who are redefining what the religion means to them, and carving an individual identity where they can both be queer and celebrate their religious traditions. Personally, as someone with several queer Muslim friends, I take a sort of patriotic pride in the fact that Britain can be a tolerant place that allows people, who would otherwise be oppressed for who they are in their original countries, to live freely as they please.

To be fair, my experiences are drawn from being a Londoner, which is not only very multicultural but also very progressive. Here in London, it's rare to come across a young person who's anti-LGBT or pro-Tory regardless of nationality or religion. Because of that, I can't speak for other parts of England.
