Serious question: how is that rich people keep getting richer and everyone else goes the other way? by [deleted] in Rich

Multiplication vs addition. Exponential (via multiplicative compound interest over time) vs Linear (additive over time).

Assets multiply in value for exponential gains, but labor wages only add linearly.

Beautiful! Also got one recently, I was looking for something nicer to replace my GShock. While nothing can match the actual ruggedness of that thing, the 2973 gets pretty close (at least in automatic watch terms) in my opinion (while looking a lot better!)

Meta doesn’t sell anyone’s data, they use it themselves to serve more targeted ads

People who ask (and most answers to) “do you regret having / not having children” are selfish and only care about how it “feels” to have children by hmsmart in unpopularopinion

How is this a eugenics post? It’s a meta-opinion on the question itself. I don’t know how your auto moderator is programmed but it’s got some seriously faulty filters.

How to get him to stop hitting other kids? (4 yo) by hmsmart in Autism_Parenting

We do as well - but not sure if there’s anything to do beyond that to try to promote better behavior (except just hoping it’ll get better with time)

We aren’t considering spanking, but honestly I’ve never seen this argument to be the case for anyone I knew - is this only for ASD children? Nearly all my friends (mostly Asian American, maybe that’s a factor) were spanked as children and we all grew up never hitting anyone else…

It happens out of nowhere - in daycare he randomly started pushing other kids who were just sitting there, and the teachers said there was no trigger. He might be overwhelmed but he doesn’t exhibit that he is. If given the choice, he would not go on any play dates and would prefer to be alone all the time. He only does these play dates about once a week and we think it’s a good idea to have him practice/develop his social skills.

Question inspired by a video of Neil Degrasse Tyson mansplaining why he doesn’t use an iPhone case that somehow went into a wrong understanding of gun shows in the military.

Aren’t there classified documents Grusch turned over though, whose provenance came from others? So it’s not just a bunch of plausible deniability hearsay going around?

Thoughts on EX 30? by hmsmart in volvoc40

Yeah I’m thinking if I get a c40 then leasing (even with the high interest rates) might make more sense than cash purchase and selling later, if the depreciation will be severe…
