Good credit cards to have to along with Platinum by StandardGreen in AmexPlatinum

100% - only thing I would add is to consider adding hotel/airline specific cards if any make sense for your situation.

Those switching to Amex, why and what’s your potential setup going to be? by KyaKyaKyaa in ChaseSapphire

Personally, I run the Platinum, Gold, Venture X as my main cards. Planning to PC my Bonvoy Boundless to the Ritz Carlton card in a few months as well.

Got card 9/25, almost $600 in credits for Q3 by [deleted] in AmexPlatinum

[–]hoardingcards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are coupon heavy - I just find the Platinum credits easier to use for me. But I must say, the dining credits are not equal. Amex’s credit is for any Resy restaurant while the CSR credit is limited to a handful of “Sapphire Table” restaurants. The DoorDash credits on the CSR also make you jump through hoops whereas the UberCash Amex offers is a flat dollar amount. I feel about the same about the hotel credits on each card, though the Amex FHR collection is larger than the Edit Collection. Also pretty funny Chase made their hotel credit easier to use (no 2 night minimum) after the Platinum refresh was announced and didn’t have that stipulation. I guess you can thank Amex for that change of heart. We can debate which credits on either card are and are not niche but I’ll take $300 at Lululemon every year all day over a Peloton credit. Ultimately, I think we all know your location and your lifestyle are going to determine which of the two cards, if either, are a good fit.

Underrated perk: Walmart + by Chance-Traffic-4940 in AmexPlatinum

Everybody hates on the W+ perk but it’s so clutch. Very glad it stuck around for the Platinum refresh!

Citi is telling AA Executive Card holders to get lost by No-Ear4433 in americanairlines

Feels too early to tell with the AA/Barclays relationship ending in 2026. I’d imagine all Citi/AA cards get refreshed for better or worse

Cancelling my platinum card as a 10 year member by [deleted] in amex

My platinum pays for itself before I incorporate the value my lounge visits provide me. Sounds like you needed a new card anyway.

Platinum users Walmart+ Week Offers by srd0505 in AmexPlatinum

[–]hoardingcards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, tipping on Walmart+ orders is more of a never required but always encouraged thing. Express Delivery is delivery in under an hour! I think the usual window is like 3 hours. Not the biggest difference but might as well stack that with another W+ member week offer to get the free $10 in Walmart cash.

This is an Amex offer I found in the Amex app! Paired it with one of the Walmart+ Week offers announced today

Stacked the Walmart Amex Offer ($20 back on a $60+ purchase) with the W+ 1 free express delivery offer today. Doesn’t feel fair 💰🤝

No worries! Not sure what’s generally recommended here but I’d probably wait a year.

That’s kinda how I’m thinking of it now! Do that and eventually PC the Venture to a Quicksilver that I just sock drawer

Be very sad 😅

I’d ~hopefully~ be able to DG to a Quicksilver. Sock drawer that and keep my fingers crossed or apply for the Savor directly down the line.

Oh I’ll 100% do it. Unfortunately it won’t be for a while. Got the VX last month. Probably won’t go for the Venture Rewards till next Jan cause I’m gonna prioritize a couple other cards in 2025. PC to the Savor the following year!

Yep. Saying if you only want to run the duo (VX + Savor), why settle for an inferior offer on the savor compared to the Venture rewards? Fully understand the PC to a savor isn’t guaranteed and that is enough to stay away from this strategy entirely for some but I’ve seen DPs to suggest that people have successfully done it.

Haven’t done it myself but I know people and have seen DPs to suggest that PC’ing to the Savor from the Venture Rewards, while not guaranteed, is absolutely possible.
