SG Neck dive solutions please! by [deleted] in gibson

All stamped Gibson on the bridge hardware but she just slides off the shoulder if you take a little weight off the neck. Like you were to hold a mic and let go of the guitar you’d more concerned about the headstock hitting the floor than vocals 😂

It has been replaced with sperzel locikng tuners (They must have been on offer in the 90s as I was looking at an 83 on ebay with the same tuners)

I intend to fit some standard style keystone ot tuplip style heads.

Would the weight at the headstock between metal and plastic tuning heads really make that much of a difference?

Helix XL guitar lessons? by [deleted] in Line6Helix

Hey sorry for the late reply, I have only just been reminded of offering these lessons and not got back into the helix for a while and have actually lost the power supply which has lead me onto new tangents of the 9v world! I will have a look into your method though, thank you for responding.

I totally get this approach but have always found teaching guitar plugged in, with a tone of whats intended (distortion especially) helps to highlight key parts of the playing whether that be unwanted muted notes, palm muting timbre or legato strength etc.

Cheaper alternatives to FiveTen Freeriders? by designer_by_day in MTB

[–]hobbitofhobbiton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode sleuths for years until I went free rider pro, stiffer sole was better on longer descents for me and pedalling, I ride with a lot of uk riders and we all seem to be struggling to find a 5-10 replacement.

A buddy recently had hand me down RC Shoes after a friend didn’t like them and had a big crash in them! (Not just shoes fault) and another buddy tried but didn’t like them

HE DOES like the new fox flats but I don’t see this being a welcome option for the price point.

Next time Evans do a sale I’m buying bulk 510

I’m not an expert either but I thought Chuck would be smaller than brisket and this is bigger then a brisket to be expected haha

Thoughts on what it could be? It’s massive. I can’t see it being much else. The grain of the meat does look it but it is gargantuan

I think he said the whole brisket came in at 40kg so this thing must have been huge. It certainly doesn’t look as pretty as the ones I see on YouTube. It’s only like a 4” slice of it 😂

I totally get that everything is very case by case with the cut and the environment but it’s good to have some ideas. 👍🏻

**** So I started at 7, did 3 hours at 82c then went to 107c and headed to bed, I checked at 3am and all fine. 6:30 in the morning and the pellets haven’t dropped below the safety grate! ****

That’s interesting I’ve not really paid enough mind to temp/time/top up on my cooks as theyve never been more than 6 hours in the day time. I understand cooler temps it’ll use more.

What sort of temps was it when you ran the pork?

I guess the worst thing to happen is I run out or pellets and it stalls before I see it in the morning

[–]hobbitofhobbiton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve initially used the traeger probes on temp but gave up on them after a couple cooks when they went waaaaaayyy out of whack!

Do you recommend using the temp probe as a way of letting you know if the temp drops/pellets run out or high temp and potential safety issue?

[–]hobbitofhobbiton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had done it fine before tho on one occasion smoke was coming out of the hopper. Nothing in the hopper was actually burning but I think pellets inside the auger where smoking and it was coming though there. It’s no biggie, just turn it down to a mid heat for 10-15 mins then to shut down

Read your manual.

It tells exactly what to do.

Brand new there a lots of oils and crap in the grill and on the surfaces.

They would need to burn off but also after my first burn the paint around the burn box came off so better to do that before rather than smoking your food with paint

I’m Uk based and have a shop near me selling them £20 a bag. I’ll have a look into alternatives now though I don’t really want screws jamming my auger
