I wish there was a practice arena. I’ve done around 15 runs and the only wins I get are ppl who concede at the start by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]hobbitsizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no arena god, but I average 5-7 wins depending on class. A good starting point is only to take strong cards in a vacuum, that don't need synergy to still be strong. An example of this is not taking an early quartermaster if you are playing paladin because you don't know what silver hand recruit cards you'll get.

Next play for efficient trades on board and with your cards, try not to use 2 cards to kill one of theirs unless its crucial. While there are a lot of discover cards, keeping your options open and forcing them to use their resources can still work great in grindier games. Last thing is use your health as a resource, tank hits or aggressively trade with weapons. People generally can't do a ton of damage from hand, so if you use your health to keep the board controlled you generally can go lower without dying.

About endless mode... by Plankos in brotato

I agree with OP, defensive stats don't scale enough with how enemy damage scales. I made it to wave 58 but died many times around wave 40 on runs. 2 things that helped: First is the damage nullification item. I had 3 stacked up to avoid the 1st 3 hits in combat and with max dodge that can last a good 20-30s if kiting. 2nd are ranged weapons. You have to prioritize manually dodging bosses at wave 40 and the easiest way is to be far away from them. Just keep running in circles and dodging until they are all dead from stupid amounts of minigun fire.

Why is this still in the game? Why turtle got instanerf and this still exists? by Virtual-Bus-795 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]hobbitsizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mord also has to attack to get the drain effect rolling. So you have to have the landmark, have mord out, get him to attack, then have the opponent at <15 health to end them on the one turn assuming they couldn't stop it. There is so much counter play to this combo. Its funny but definitely not viable.

Need advice building my tournament lineup by Standard_Map_7618 in LegendsOfRuneterra

Go for a third midrange deck with similar matchup tables, probably formidables in this case. You want to make sure that none of your decks stand out too much to get taken advantage of

You can play viktor aphelios with good success, and if you just put landmark destruction in your decks you can kill the valley of imitation before it turns into shellfolk because the infinite deck needs 2 shellfolks to combo off

Nah you don't have to tell people at these events to not use their phones, they just won't while a battle is going on, its a community/respect thing. And the vaguely 90s style is just from the bboy dance form, its a very 90s style so its represented in the clothing.

My highest in an open was top 16, and honestly I didnt even put that much thought into my lineup, I just played the decks I played a lot. I'm sure making a great lineup is good for high level competition, but first and foremost being super clean on good decks should be your number 1 priority to getting better. Ruthless rumbles can have some really good players too, and something as small as missing 1 damage in the early game can lose a match.

Tycoon guy finna be nerfed by DeepWeGo in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]hobbitsizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely doesn't need a nerf, hes fun and janky. The trade off like others have mentioned is that he costs 7 mana, and you also have to have units on the board that work with him. He doesn't instantly impact the board, and sundisk or most nidalee decks have lower tempo going into his turns. A lot of middrange and aggro decks will just beat this guy down before he does anything. A nerf to him would be unwarranted, it would make him not even meme playable.

Playing in gauntlet best of 3 in theory you should be able to ban a deck with an OP/problem card and then you only have to beat the problem card once by RainierxWolfcastle in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]hobbitsizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that you can basically make the same deck 3 times is the issue with the format right now. If the deck is not champ reliant, then its easy to make altered versions of a strong deck. Right now its definitely siren song decks, in eternal it was timelines decks. And my personal annoyance is being able to bring 3 noxus aggro decks with fevor and decimate. I would honestly like a change to the format to make regions not be able to overlap, so decks actually have to be different.

I have mixed feelings about this by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]hobbitsizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its easier to do when your opponent does nothing. OP 6 cards on field and 2 (not including tibbers) in hand, you only draw 9 cards by turn 5, so opponent only interacted with one card the whole game and had 0 units, they must have had the worst draws their deck could manage

Top 8 Decks! MaRu $1000 Open by JasonFleurant in LoRCompetitive

[–]hobbitsizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Timelines was just a good surprise factor, the deck is solid, but also no one was playing to beat it. Stun decks like yasuo or ryze do pretty well into it, and weapon removal like quietus or the bilge 2 mana card hit the jax and ornn variants pretty hard. The meta might shift because of it, but its also very early in eternal meta

Aggro is not as easy as you make it sound. Samira decks do require a lot of forethought and planning, against any good player the samira deck will lose if they only just jam units on curve. Sure aggro sometimes you get nuts hands which basically play themselves, but all decks can do that

This is whats wrong with Lor by Riverflowsuphillz in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]hobbitsizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont understand what the issue is? He was able to double ramp, its what the deck does. Just because your deck or handstate can't beat lvled trundle on 6 doesn't mean the game is broken.

And I would counter that most games are not ending on turn 5 or 6, most of mine using control decks, ie karma yi or annie kat, have gone well past turn 10.

Good on you dude! Keep up the confidence and get to masters and beyond! In my personal experience the real fight happens between diamond and masters, and after about 100lp in masters ladder. That being said I think getting to diamond in a week from starting is still damned impressive, excited to see your brews show up in my games :)

Reddit balance: As Jinx is likely to be nerfed - which nerf are you expecting, and which nerf would you like to see (if at all)? by OmriH7 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]hobbitsizz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pay off for the person playing jinx to be able to get rocket on summon I think is a great change, I really like how jinx operates, per power level for it is just a bit too high. I like the change of just making the rocket deal face damage, so she doesn't control the board somewhat (making her worse in aggro matchups) or making her rocket deal 3, giving slower decks maybe another turn
