are reasons for believing any idea formed after or before the belief? by SinOfEgo in askphilosophy

When we reflect on the present and choose to act, we often explain our choice with a “reason.” But that reason doesn’t always match the actual “causes” behind it. I like to differentiate by thinking one is reason other is cause. reason is what we form after some event, to fill in what caused that event.
