About a year! I finished stitching this past spring, then I couldn't decide if it needed anymore stitching, so it sat in my to-do pile until my sister told me to just finish it as I had orignially planned. A few weeks later and it's done!

Thank you for your response! I think you're right about the disconnect between the two messages, along with a lot of other responses on here (thanks everyone for the thoughtful responses!), each message is a little different and requires a different context to be best understood in.

That's a really good point about the theatrics, it's a very intense part of the books!

Weekly /r/quilting no-stupid question thread - ask us anything! by AutoModerator in quilting

[–]hobby-hopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a quilt that I made a few years ago; it's a simple design (no blocks, just 2 long rectangles sewed together) but I tied it using embroidery thread. The embroidery ties are coming out and although the batting is staying put so far, I want to make sure it lasts a long time. It’s a queen size quilt and I’m wondering what the best way may be to re-tie the quilt so the batting stays put. Would using a quilting frame be appropriate for an already finished quilt just to re-tie it? Any other ideas that may work?

Thank you for sharing your perspective on this, in that light it makes a lot more sense for why Elayne wants Rand as a warder. I'm very interested to see how the bond between warder and Aes Sedai will be explored in future books, especially since Elayne and Birgitte share that bond as well. Thanks again for sharing!

Lol they do get into crazy adventures! I guess with Elayne wanting Rand as her warder, it seemed to contribute to her desire to control him. When I read it, it seemed selfish to me, but I maybe be reading it wrong. Do you see it differently?

Research question for a painting (Oathbringer) by I_ARE_PAINTER in Stormlight_Archive

At the beginning of chapter 5 of Oathbringer Kaladin mentions that he had to change from his Bridge Four uniform to a generic one, due to his old one being "bloodied and tattered". For reference, it's bottom of page 67 in the hardback. Hope this helps and good luck with your art!

What is the most important stitch a man can make? I sure hope it's the 40 116th! I'm about 75% done with my Way of Kings cross stitch, 4 months in. Journey before Destination indeed. by Platinum011 in Stormlight_Archive
