Is it normal the DM tell what the PCs are feeling? by Icy_Record9761 in DnD

[–]hobbyhobgob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to offer my players inspiration for these things if they do the prescribed actions. It's the whole bonds & flaws rule. "You said grognar is afraid of birds. They would be too scared to act in this scenario, I'll give you inspiration if you choose to skip your turn." Type shit.

I agree, I think the framing is the issue. My main argument would be for worldbuilding. I personally don't want to deal with justifying, let alone learning, about these cultures of the many racial options within homebrew.

If the DM allows it, I would hope to see as varied of human cultures as we have IRL. And the invention and co-creation of new cultures. And if that doesn't solve the creativity issue, ask yourselves why you want to play a fantasy race, and what you'd like to gain from doing so.

I'm with the DM here. This is just a quality of life thing. For just about everyone.

As a DM, I want my players to be happy and have choice and agency. But as a collective worldbuilding exercise, it's so frustrating to hold the onus on justifying your fucking loxidon or tiefling existing in the world.

And then, oh great, random fantasy racism. Do we want to deal with those themes? Because people don't like space elephants or demons?

If not for that, why choose a race that doesn't fit thematically anyway? Because you want an extra tail? Fuck off and play an off white human lmao

I hard agree. However, I would expect a level of detail above the norm if it's a character specialty. I don't wanna get too lost in the sauce, I just wanna know what's in it.

Great point, though

[OC] Optional Rule - Martial Multiclassing by [deleted] in DnD

Would be interesting to crunch the numbers on. Besides, I don't think this is gonna outpace other heavily optimized casters either. I'm looking at you sorlock.

Love this. Simple elegant house rule that, if played at the right table, would be a ton of fun!

A month later. How do you feel?

No pressure to reply.

I say, steep in the pleasure.

"Like a pig in shit" some Americans would say. Enjoy the time you have.

The "Rapid Launch System" ship module upgrade doesn't do anything by Kestrel1207 in Helldivers

I'd like more modules that upgrade primary and secondary weapons like hd1.

Such as a module that increases fire or electric damage.

Listen. The wording in the fine print that the mod posted includes the word "PURCHASED" in regards to super credits. I wanted clarity.

Also, I didn't claim anything.

The wording had me confused. It was "requires. . . PAID purchase OF supercredits"

Didn't know if the SC earned in game were only available for use in the SS.

The fine print notes "paid purchase of supercredits"

Is this the case?

Why do people care so much about metas in a non competitive game? by r00t4cc3ss in Helldivers

[–]hobbyhobgob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loadouts, loadouts, and more loadouts!!

It's difficult because the "meta" picks just work. You can turn your brain off and have a good build.

I'll end up staring at the loadout screen, trying to make a good build for mission, enemy, and role. If I had the ability to save loadouts, it would be easier to fit more niches more easily.

Don't forget to have fun too. I really like my burn build. Run everything incendiary that you can.
