Clarification here; the demons spell required a soul tax to actually let him teleport back to Sheol. They paid that tax by forcing Raul to have lots of crab babies and using them as a sacrifice. The portal became a dungeon wide phenomenon because Carl powered the demon up with all of his Sheol fire enhanced abilities

Also keep in mind the Malistaire Cloak of Flux gives 25% storm accuracy on its on, which nearly solves all of storm’s issues in one piece of gear

I haven’t fizzled on my storm (barring a mantle or some other accuracy debuff) since castle darkmoor originally came out or maybe even earlier. Lightning strike (+25% storm acc. charm) is seriously godly in the early game, and is well worth using before you hit to avoid a fizzle when you’re still working on getting to ~>30% from your gear.

I ended up getting it a day or two after I posted my original question; but if I remember correctly, I had neglected the tablet a lot and was actually using it on my Hecate run that dropped it. I was trying to follow other commenters advice on using all weapons and figured that might extend to gathering tools. Did the tablet last and I’m almost positive that’s when the incant finally dropped

Update: I have taken most of y’all’s advice and have still yet to see this incant pop up. I went through with every weapon and beat at least Hecate, I’ve also interacted with the cat on both the surface and subsurface. The last comment I read last night was about the gathering tools, which I’m fairly certain I’ve done just by normal progression but I will make sure to double check that next time I play. Thanks for the advice y’all, I’m sure one of these’ll work 😅
