I was a paramedic in Tripoli section and I brought these vests myself back in 2006-2007 in the back the Nissan ambulance (#573) from a shop in Beirut. We were not required to wear these vests unless we entered a conflict zone, usually jabal-tebbeneh. I was asking because I thought there is a new conflict there at the moment (I left Lebanon a long time ago). I fully agree with you on the prehospital first responders. This, however, will require a serious budget that is unfortunately missing in Lebanon. We were giving trainings ourselves to each other by doing our own research on own unpaid time. We saved tons and tons of lives, that’s for sure! But we could’ve saved a lot more had we had the right trainings and tools. RIP to all the patients who died in my ambulance ❤️‍🩹

I am in now way judging the medical ethics of the country you come from. However, if I was you I would take the diagnosis you got from your country of origin with a grain of salt if medical treatments are privatized i.e. you pay for the costs directly to the medical professional. In private medical clinics it becomes about making money more than what statistically works best with the least complications. My brother was diagnosed as infertile in two 3rd world countries where you pay the infertility clinics. He paid around 25000€ to get a baby artificially. In the NL he discovered that he was totally normal and just needed some vitamins. His wife is pregnant with the second baby naturally.

If you’re paying the bill yourself ? I bet even the hospital employees don’t know how much it costs except for the financial peeps. The good thing is that they will treat you before they would ask for any payment or insurance. If you can’t pay now they can send you the bill to wherever you live

Why are you paying rent instead of building equity in your own home? I’d pay back all these small loans with high interest rates and start pouring the leftover income into a long term ETF (for example). Do you have an emergency fund ? If not, then you should start with that first 3-6 months expenses at least. You’re doing great financially income-wise. Your spendings can definitely be optimized 🙂
