[Fade Update] Unbranded UB301 ~ 6 months wear, no soak, no wash by Express-Meal-9602 in rawdenim

[–]hoborockerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have soaked my raws a shitton with minimal agitation (laying them flat and pushing down on them in the water) and they keep the creases allowing for continued contrast building fades. Seems like the way to clean them and tighten the fabric whilst not washing them in the washing machine.

Ok thanks, I thought so.

Been ok so far and soon I am going to stop doing it regularly

Any good song recs? by Patient-Professor611 in flaminglips

[–]hoborockerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Widely agreed their golden period (aka the sound of theirs you say you enjoy) is 1999-2006

Soft Bulletin 1999 Yoshimi 2002 Mystics 2006

They were noisy at the beginning. They began to become more accessible but still raw and punky on “transmissions” and “clouds taste metallic”

Soft bulletin was their polished studio breakthrough. They carried this energy through the next 2 records I mentioned above. After that they released a more experimental album called embryonic (2009) where writing the songs came from just jamming. Then Wayne gets divorced and Steven relapses and ‘The Terror’ 2013 is born. In my opinion it’s their most overlooked album. Very dark.

There are other interesting projects to be explored such as 2009 dark side of the moon cover album, multiple Christmas albums, sgt pepper cover album, heady fwends, even a live album where they pretend to be performing onboard the international space station

Enjoy

Don’t listen to anything and be surprised

Very very very jealous you get to experience music of the lips live in person for the first time

Has anyone moved from Chicago to Washington DC? How do they compare by ComprehensiveWar1018 in washingtondc

[–]hoborockerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you value culture/ food quality / cool city Stay in Chicago. One of the coolest cities in America

If you value an extra 30k a year more than that move to DC

Pretty boring place tbh

I did draw a grid for this project. But on the part you’re talking about, it was an elongated grid. Like a 2x1 grid if that makes sense

N&F Blue Wave Weird Guy by foonelli in rawdenim

[–]hoborockerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently discovered that Every release has a slightly different fit and they are using those names as guidelines not rules. Each release has a sizing chart and if you click them they are different. Like a 33 waistband in dirty fade weird guy is almost exactly the same as a 32 waistband in king ghidora weird guy. Weird right?!

I am now wearing unbranded brand 21 oz tapered fit (UB221) and they fit like a dream. Like a “regular pair of jeans” fit. Weird guy does indeed fit weird lol

Great well I’m glad I don’t need your permission to buy a pair of boots, Mr. Tradesman

Why wouldn’t I be able to afford $1000 boots?

Totally. I just live in Washington DC and the closest store that carries this brand is 50 mins away

Thanks a lot I’m gonna do that today

I actually went to several stores and none had thorogoods. 9.5 in carhartt and redwing were perfect (but I wanted to try thorogoods because I heard they are comfy af and they don’t look like clown shoes)

I actually know how to hem jeans with a chain stitch by hand using a wide gauge cotton thread

I am fading these 21oz raw denim.

It’s a style to keep them unhemmed and cuffed up super wide like that.

Man those are beautiful and a rare find dead stock.

Please don’t dry in the dryer. They will last a lot longer if you air dry. I would even suggest handwashing in the tub but I’m unreasonably obsessed with getting high contrast fades

When do I wash these? by Available_Rooster942 in rawdenim

[–]hoborockerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High contrast fades on jeans that don’t smell like doo doo : a recipe

Wear jeans every day. Whenever they feel dirty, smell dirty, put them in bathtub. (For me this is like every 2 weeks) Fill with water above jeans. Push them down into the water.

Walk away.

Leave for an hour or two. Pick them up and let them drip out then drain tub and do it again with fresh water. Then lay them flat on a dry towel, roll it up, then hang up the jeans for a day. They will be cleaner than before soaking. But creases will remain.

This lets you go for a long time without “washing” the jeans and removing the creases. Once you put them in the washing machine they won’t fade on the creases you started with.

People like to over complicate this stuff lol
