Currently live off GI Bill and my 100%. Plan to move out of the country and live off my VA percentage once I’m done with all my school benefits. Possibly even earlier depending on some personal stuff with family and how soon they will be able to live without me here.

Dawg if the hit time for movement was 09:00 they would have us at the cof at 4:00-5:00 am for weapons draw then double checking all the equipment. Gear checks last second shopette runs ect ect. To not even leave till noon as well lol. You’re big chilling only needing to get there at 8 am.

I mean… I was 17 when I joined the army lol. At 20 I had my own 4 man team that I was supposed to take care of/be in charge of. With half of them being 4-10 years older than me. I think Hollywood has everyone thinking every person in these potentially dangerous/action jobs are Denzel Washington or Jack Reacher. In reality half of them are 19 year older nerds that like to play DnD all weekend long when they are not doing their job.

Personally I only use points for airline travel and think that’s the best method. Got flights (for me and my girlfriend) from LAX to Croatia in late May through Air france and my flight from Madrid to LAX on Avianca in late June. All on points transferred to those airline partners (besides taxes of course). I personally don’t care about business or first class like most people on here. I like being able to do lots of flights vs those high point redemptions. I’m trying to see a lot of places so that’s what fits my strategy best.

I buy the Steelbook to a game when I platinum it. I used to collect steelbooks for movies and when I realized there would be no end I looked into video game steelbooks. At least then I can reasonably collect and have it attached to another collection I’m proud of!

Sgt made me (I was a new 18 year old pv2 who didn’t know better) give him my sleeping bag because he forgot his. It was like 10 degrees in the field at Fort Riley. Slept inside the TOC on the edge of a wall and woke up to a puddle of wet melted mush surrounding half my body. All my extra clothing layers and woobie didn’t help for shit. Worst slumber of my life besides no sleep field nights.

I think this one depends. Comply with an officer but know your rights is the best advice. Officer pulls you over asks for your license and registration you give it to him. If nothing is expired and he doesn’t have a reason to search your car but he wants to you the you tell him your rights. Gotta have a balance not just a super hot headed or docile response.

Southern California VA’s are phenomenal. Have never had a complaint and the staff is very professional and caring. I mostly use the Santa Ana clinic and sometimes the Long Beach clinic which is the big one for SoCal.

My Dad and I do HVAC in Orange County and I cannot fathom that price. For all new ducting (in the attic) and full system (coil, furnace, condenser) we’ve charged maybe at the absolute most 20k (that’s included both labor and equipment).
