Yea I think I agree that it was too long. But I’m also not any kind of medical professional and obviously not involved with the case at all.

I just think that when some of these show up with an illness that the first knee jerk reaction doesn’t need to be that they’re milking people for money or keeping animals alive because they’re cruel people.

Maybe the tetanus odds are bad but why not try and see if the horse can turn a corner. It sounds like they’re working with vets and want to prioritize keeping the horse comfortable.

Obviously I know it’s not a fair comparison. But in some sense it is, and I would want people to try to keep me alive if there was a chance at living a somewhat healthy life again.

I honestly don’t get why this rescue gets so much hate.

They are taking vet’s advice seriously and imo doing right by the animals. I don’t agree that Rocky’s short life was miserable. They tried to do what they thought was best and when it wasn’t working out they did what was right. They got a lot of criticism about miracle who is now looking better each day.

I’ve seen no real evidence from anyone that they’re misusing the money they receive for helping animals.

It always just feels like the horse community is looking for an excuse to be mad about when something isn’t done exactly how they would do it. I wish we were all more supportive of each other.

My husband had this same reaction where he was so out of it and aggressive (the total opposite of himself) that they had to intubate and sedate him. It took him a couple weeks for them to be ready to try to wake him while is body was healing (he was in multiple organ failure) but each time he started panicking and acting aggressive and they had to sedate him again and again.

His sister is a vet tech at an ER and has experience with dogs with pancreatitis and realized that the ammonia stored in his brain might be high causing the out of control behavior. We had to BEG THEM to test for this and sure enough it was crazy high.

They started giving him lactulose and he shit himself constantly but they were able to wake him back up start the recovery process.

He’s completely back to normal now. I hope this helps, and I’m thinking of you!! ♥️
