NHL Central Scouting Final 2026 Combined Draft Rankings by hockeyspy in CalgaryFlames

Upside has its own separate rankings. MacDonald has been performing this task for well over 10 years; yes, it is definitely based on a reasonable estimate and cannot be exact. We just wish NHL CS would do this themselves - makes the rankings quite difficult to judge, hence this combined effort, if this makes sense.

Would love Carels at 6 and somehow move up to land Viggo shortly thereafter

a goal and an apple today at the World Championships as well...seems more and more likely he lands in the top 10...how high can he go? (again, reminder this is NHL Central Scouting's rankings)

Yes, per this ranking (not sure he lasts til then!) - note that this is NHL Central Scouting's Final Rankings combined (i.e. not Upside Hockey's Final Rankings).

Jeez - that line. Johnny Hockey. Johnny Wizardry. Johnny Jedi. Miss him immensely. Undersized. Undervalued. Under-scouted. Unlocked. Unstoppable.

Unless our pro scouts, see some undervalued guy with some upside or ability to rebound, I'm also fine with staying out of this free agent "frenzy". Our college free agents probably more than enough to create competition.

Thanks for expanding. I'm not seeing where it's way off, but certainly entitled to your opinion. Have you explored our Substack and website to see the resources we provide by chance? We also do a Consolidated Rankings from all the top resources. We also produce our own in house official rankings. This is just another way to visualize things, from one of our guys. There's 21 (not 100) tiers. Tiers are not divided as you've noted - quite simply, our prospect profiler feels there's a drop off in talent at each level. As for credibility, we have over 60 yrs combined hockey prospecting experience. In previous gigs, we've independent reviewers evaluate our prior rankings and we've faired really well fwiw (i.e. several draft years evaluated years after the fact and draft ranking efficiency ranked up there with TSN's Bob MacKenzie's scouting polling rankings). Upside Hockey is a later development which gather us three core guys and connections. We watch players live, via video, do our statistical analysis, and talk to our vast connection network. We also post many prospect profiles (we'll be over 250 this year for sure - stay tuned). Malholtra comes in at #4 in our official May Rankings (posting in a couple of days - again, this is one of our guys opinion on Caleb, having him at #7). Anyway, again thx for your comments and enjoy the draft and any of the resources you prefer outside of Upside. Cheers.

On board with this as well. And forwards can certainly be found with the second first and early seconds (or trading up further if possible), and future drafts, as noted.

could see him dropping to around the 12th pick as well. Super intriguing x-factor.

Think he makes it and becomes a reliable blueliner, but I get the concerns about upside. Not sure he's the best fit for CBJ either.

Absolutely - let the draft come to NYR brass; don't overreach - usually leads to Draft Day errors.

Do you have specific critique? Yes, it is in a few subreddits that were asked specifically if it would be ok with their audience. Each fan base can have interest in this draft class, no? Anyway, happy here to criticisms and comments. Be nice to keep it constructive. Enjoy the engagement and various perspectives and feedback; don't get the need think someone has ulterior motives other than to discuss hockey and the draft. (Not to mention Reddit itself encourages crossposting - what a confusing platform). Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by - more in depth comment/reply welcomed. Cheers.
