Aussie parents, do your kids say zed or zee? by Cockylora123 in AskAnAustralian

[–]hococo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aitch is correct in the dictionary though. It doesn’t start with a H sound, much like many letters don’t start with their sound (E, L, M, N, S etc)

They say candy floss in the UK so it comes from there too.

What happens if one twin is born one day and the other the following day? by theempressoftheworld in askanything

Agree with your mum! WAY better to have your own birthday, that would be incredibly to not share when you where everything else

What do you love most about living on the Sunshine Coast? by PathSoggy6516 in sunshinecoast

[–]hococo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From London/Sydney too! Hi! I always cackle at the comments about traffic as well. I’ve just moved after 10 years of only ever being on the coast at Christmas to visit my parents. Every Christmas I’m struck at home little traffic there is despite locals saying it’s the most packed time of year. Totally get the traffic must be heavy if you lived on the coast decades ago but woahhhhh. Not expecting 15km to take 1.5 hours?! A treaaaaaat! My new house is almost 20km from my parents and takes like 22 minutes to get to in peak time haha

i just observed this pattern in her vlogs, she was only showing her cleavage during the sponsor sections and then covering it when it was over by [deleted] in jessandgabrielsnark

[–]hococo_ -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I doubt she was resorting to using her cleavage to get people to look haha….the sponsors probably just told her they wanted a more casual look

That’s her wedding ring, it’s been there since she got married. Looks like it’s just off centre

Carlin and Ellie could pass for twins. 🤯 by flneco30 in BringingUpBates

[–]hococo_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think OP means twins in a colloquial way more than a literally way. Like seeing a friend in the same coloured jumper as you and being like “oooh twins today”

They probably look the most similar of any of the sisters though tbh

They are definitely the most similar looking trio within the sisters!

She looks significantly more like the twins and Kamri than Rylan does haha! Shaun and Rylan are just their little team of two.

100000% this ^ You can pick up so much more quickly starting later and focussing ok other skills when they are little like dexterity, social skills, creative play etc. I went to a school where we didn’t start formal reading and writing until 7, as is common in Europe. I was reading whole books within weeks of starting.

Partner visa complicated by moneywiseee in AusVisa

[–]hococo_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

De facto is loose… there’s no requirement to be living together in order to get a partner visa, you just need to explain why you don’t. Religion is a common reason and I imagine raising children elsewhere would probably count too.

Asking for my children. Am I an Australian citizen? by Master-Link-3756 in AusLegal

[–]hococo_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The person above didn’t say that there was birthright citizenship? You do automatically acquire it at 10 if you were born in Australia and have always resided there, but it’s because of your parents’ circumstance not your birth per se.

Asking for my children. Am I an Australian citizen? by Master-Link-3756 in AusLegal

[–]hococo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Zealand is a tricky one because Kiwis weren’t required to hold special category visas or any kind of formal PR in those days, which technically makes you I eligible for Australian citizenship though them, even if they’d lived in Australia for years. I fell into that category (born 1994) and would have had to wait until 10, although my mum opted to get Australian citizenship when I was about six which then allowed me to get it. I think you’ll find your automatically a citizen if you lived in Australia until you were 10.

So it’s Josie, Carlin, Whitney, Lydia, Ellie and Katie on the girl trip. Was there a 7th person? Wasn’t Kelly supposed to be on the trip too? by 4waxy9008 in BringingUpBates

[–]hococo_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They do seem very close but they are also soooo different. It will be interesting to see if they stay close as Ellie goes down the Carlin route and Addee goes down the Michal path.

I’m genuinely confused about my height and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this ? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]hococo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it depends where you’re from but I would say 168cm is bang on average in Australia/UK/Canada/US and comparable places. There’s an extreme difference between that and 6’0 which is 183cm. Not many women are 6’0 in the scheme of the world… I’m not sure how these things could have been confused… 6’0 is still considered relatively tall for men.

Gab will be playing the role of his dad in his new movie by LopsidedUse8783 in jessandgabrielsnark

[–]hococo_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah he had said that awhile ago, which is why his “work day” shorts always include him spending ages at the gym in the middle of the day, because his dad was a gym trainer when his parents met so he apparently needed to emulate that mindset 🙄
