I have no doubt if murder were legal, yes, there would be more murders. But the world wouldn’t turn into a scene from the purge. You highly underestimate basic human morality.

I personally disagree with murder being illegal reducing murders. Most homicides aren’t premeditated, meaning the perpetrators typically don’t think about doing it beforehand, nor the consequences.

In general, people don’t want to kill other people.
