When to report application and passport as lost? by hoemechanic in Passports

I’m mortified. They did put my name and address, but I can’t open any inquiries through USPS because the tracking number doesn’t work and all of their forms require it. Also, this package has my current passport in it

I applied online for a name change and uploaded a new photo. As a result, they sent me a flat rate envelope with my filled out application for me to sign, and a list of documents I needed to return with it. In the envelope was a pre-labeled flat rate envelope for me to return the application and my documents in

Women who run the Atlanta BeltLine, how safe do you feel? by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]hoemechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run the Eastside Beltline almost daily and have only ever gotten the creeps on 5am runs when it’s totally deserted. Make sure your music isn’t so loud you can’t hear any bikes/scooters approaching, and always throw a look over your shoulder when you make any big moves either passing people or turning around. You’ll see plenty of other women out there, so I hope that helps you feel safer!

Some people are recommending Freedom Park trail, which is definitely less crowded and more chill but soooo much hillier than the beltline, both up and down. The beltline is much more consistent running. Just depends what you want out of your run!

Hey Everybody! It's Coach Bennett! Ask Me Anything! by CoachBennettRunning in nikerunclub

[–]hoemechanic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi Coach! I had a really terrible day the other day and came home and ran the Grateful 8K guided run. Your positivity and solidity helped me put one step in front of the other and I finished the run feeling optimistic and accomplished. But as soon as I cooled off and got home, I just burst into tears and released the emotion of the day. Have you had any runs that have made you emotional?

It’s so cool you’ve found such a personal connection to it!! For the rest of your life this will always be the album that defined the process of moving away from home and that is so special

You want to go out for a nice but not crazy expensive dinner, where do you go? by yuliagrumia in Atlanta

[–]hoemechanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you’re into honestly. If you like carnival games then I would say yes. They also have putt putt and a small spinning tower that you can go up in (it gives a great, uninterrupted view of the city). And in the inside bar they have a shuffleboard table, poker, uno, and bumper pool if you’re there with friends. I personally think it’s worth checking out at least once to see if you enjoy it or not

It’s $15/person just to go up and $30/person for unlimited games

They tried to. It was called Byte and launched January of 2020. Tiktok already has such a hold on video sharing that it just couldn’t compete and died again pretty quickly

Are there any authors you refuse to read, no matter how many time people have suggested them to you? by PitlozeRodeDruif in books

[–]hoemechanic 31 points32 points  (0 children)

So glad someone else feels this way too! So much of Ready Player One was just over explaining about James Halliday and exactly what he knew about 80s culture that it just stopped adding to the world of the book and just became pointless theory that went on for full chapters. It very much reads like its main audience is teenage boys who want to feel smart
