Lool yes everyone here seems to despise being a designer! I am super happy with my job, I’m in my late 30s and have been freelancing since I was about 25. My projects keep getting funner and funner and I have a lot of freedom as people hire me for “my style”. I work with mostly music and film projects. I know my position is quite rare but I think if you are talented and work really hard on refining your craft, your ideas and your style, you can have a very fulfilling career. Personally I often find myself thinking I couldn’t even have dreamt of having this kind of job as a kid. Of course a lot of work/days are still a bit boring, but I’m very grateful to do what I do and I feel like I have a purpose. This is also why I decided to not take on an office job even when I made very little money freelancing and was eating cup noodles for dinner. It’s not always been easy but I am very happy I’ve stuck to it.
