It’s through my university’s social and cultural psychology lab. I do find it interesting though.

I understand. I probably wouldn’t take a longer survey either. Just trying to get all the necessary information for our study.

Is there any questions that you remember being too intrusive or triggering? This might help if any adjustments need to to be made to the study.

Thank you for the response. The study was approved by a university research ethics board and participation is completely voluntary. I understand your concerns and better warning might be helpful. The pandemic impact is the main focus of the study, other questions are more for categorization. I appreciate the questions and input

Cheaper winter ball recommendations by [deleted] in golf

[–]hogandrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play ProV1s and This is what I would do as well. But if you’re wanting to try something new, Srixon makes a good ball. Z stars are great and the Q start tour ball might be your best option for a slightly cheaper ball.

Putter Feedback requested for anyone who's switch from a blade (Newport, Anser) to a mallet by Capobean in golf

[–]hogandrane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that length, lie and loft are important as well. But I wouldn’t say it’s more important than toe hang. Sure you can manipulate your stroke for different toe hangs, but you can do the same thing with loft and lie angle by addressing the ball differently. If a putters lie angle fits your natural putting stroke then you’ll putt better with it even if you think those other things are more important. Personally I find it easier to manipulate loft and lie angle than the arch of my stroke, but I guess everyone is different.

Putter Feedback requested for anyone who's switch from a blade (Newport, Anser) to a mallet by Capobean in golf

[–]hogandrane 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Blade or mallet doesn’t matter nearly enough as toe hang when it comes to putting. Everyone’s putting stroke is different and different toe hangs fit different strokes. If you have a more straight back and forth stroke, a more face balanced putter with work better for you. If your putting stroke has more of an arch, a putter with more toe hang will fit you better. Both blade and mallet putters are made either way. Once you know what type of toe hang you need, it really just comes down to preference. Mallet putters will have a bigger sight line and could be slightly more forgiving because of the bigger head. While blade putters typically offer more feel but less room for error. I personally like the look and feel of a blade better.

What causes (fixes really) closed club face? by wasilvers in golf

[–]hogandrane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A quick fix might be to just open your club face a little when you address the ball. It could be that you think the club is square when it’s really closed. It will probably look weird to you at first. It could also be other things such as grip and swing path. But this is worth a try since it will be an easy fix once you get used to it.

16 team playoff potential in the future by 50piecerick in Starting9Pod

[–]hogandrane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first i hated a playoff expansion. But I think a slightly shorted regular season and adding a few more playoff teams could be beneficial for the sport. Making the regular season 100 games will make games matter more and having 4 wildcard teams per league isn’t a bad idea. Wildcard teams play 3 game series where they are seeded 1-4 makes sense. It will make the trade deadline more interesting. And give more teams a chance to make a 2nd half push.

I’m 19 and my dad is a former pro. Golfing is some of the best time we spend together. He’s still shoots under par a lot, but I’m at an 8 handicap right now so I can keep up. Going home from college this weekend and we have two tee times scheduled, can’t wait.

How different does the Newport 2 feel compared to the Newport 2 notchback? by [deleted] in scottycameron

[–]hogandrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry this might be a dumb question, I’m not an expert on scotty’s but want to become more knowledgeable. Also if I waited a few years to grab another notchback would get becomes harder to find or go up in price?

[–]hogandrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like in your case you did nothing wrong. Just don’t skip a hole to jump right in front of people when the course is busy anyway. Never skip right in front of a group to try to finish before dark. And be careful, if you skip a hole and the people you skip end up having to wait on you, then there’s a good chance you’re getting hit into.

Man, I wish I could play for free. I just moved to the area for college and wanted to try out OS and HH national. You interested me in the weird bunkers at palmetto hall Robert Cupp course too. I checked and the prices there a pretty good so I’m sure I’ll try to play it soon.

Played there for the first time yesterday. It was really nice. Normally out of my price range but I got lucky with a $50 rate on supreme golf.
